An interesting assessment. I just read an article in Playboy describing Lagos, Nigeria as the leading commercial city in Africa, surpassing South Africa. Quite an achievement, considering all the corruption.
I live in Houston where the downturn in oil that occurred in the early 1980s was a disaster. However, the mix of people here involved in entrepreneurship, has brought the city back in a new way, creating a vibrant economy we have today that is no longer dependent upon oil.
From what I read in the Playboy story and from what you are writing. I believe that it is true that Nigeria will come out of a separation much more vibrant than before. Educated Nigerians returning from Europe, UK, and the United States will transform the country into a strong West African partner and throw off all the ideological drawbacks of the past.

Yes, it would seem like life is moving very fast. People are talking faster, multitasking, and operating at a frenzied pace. I've known these knee-jerk decision-makers in my time and found that they often made terrible decisions but were moving so fast that they never looked back to see what damage they had done. Strangely, most of them got fired when their bad decisions caught up with them long after much damage has been created.
Once in a while we all have to stop moving at such a crazy pace and figure out what we really should be doing. Corporations like to go on expensive retreats to get it done, but I think everyone should set aside part of each day to just review what we've been doing so that will make better, not faster, decisions in the future.

Great words of encouragement. However, most people don't have a clue and just grasp the nearest straw and make it their lifeboat as though their life depended upon it.
