TRUE LOVE never goes away; however the assumptions or "pre"-sumptions of others or; most importantantly, the "receipient" of that TRUE LOVE. LOVE; in and of itself is ACTIVE and ALWAYS WILL BE.
(as the ole saying goes "even in hibernation; the bear is very much "alive". (lol) So if LOVE is PERCEIVED as DORMANT; then that is the PERCEPTION of one who is being loved.

My dad was - and, yes, still is - a Marine. He served during the Korean War but wasn't sent over there and was never told why. All the other men in my family (my brother and 3 brothers-in-law) also served but I didn't - the recruiting officer said I didn't have the right attitude for it. I'm sure I was too mental for it anyways. Enjoyed your write. Tom :-)

I find this so poignant, Gwendolyn. I feel that Eve and Mary Magdalene get such bad press and are so misunderstood. But you have painted her delicate and beautiful here. The symbology of Adam and Eve was I think not so much that Eve was to blame or Adam but that humanity itself was weak and we all share that weakness.

Eve has been unfairly blamed and scapegoated by some people who don't want to take responsibility for themselves. I've never read where Eve put a knife to Adams throat or anything. This one really makes me think. Sometimes when you think you know about somebody or some people, but then things happen and all of a sudden you feel like these people or this person is a stranger. It's strange that people and friends who know you once and then act like they don't know you at all. I have these questions all the time. Those who act like this toward me will know who they are, I need not even spell out their names.

I find this second strophe, and this clarion question, deeply philosophical and spiritual and appreciate how it challenges one to step out and make a difference. How many have rotted in their safe zones because of their fearfulnesses? Too many I fear.
