hangin here (Poetry) - 6/29/2008 12:23:42 AM
One of your best- gritty and real to me. I know it from his perspective, physically. Well, I think I've pretty well done you tonight. Read me when you can and say hello, Madeline. You're good, I like you and we may be related. What other reasons do we need to say hello every now and then. Thanks for the pleasure of your company- Jerry

a hidden tear (Poetry) - 6/29/2008 12:18:24 AM
Have any cold water handy? Douse me, please. Been there, done that and loved it every time, even if it was very temporary. Jerry

soda-pop dreams and coaster realities (Poetry) - 6/29/2008 12:15:00 AM
More good poetry! I like it a lot. Words:given not givin'(short for giving)-memories, acceptance. You need more experience and all you have to do is stay alive. You'll get it whether or not you want it. You'll love it because of your nature(a fine one). Thanks for all the poetry.Jerry

unravelled and undone (Poetry) - 6/29/2008 12:06:46 AM
Just remember- You're not a finished product and never will be-but you're aware and will always keep trying. That's the best any of us can do and it's enough! Jerry

immodest endeavor (Poetry) - 6/29/2008 12:02:54 AM
I like the way you use words. You don't bore me at all. Keep writing. Allot a couple of hours a week to just writing what you feel and think. Jerry

we cry. (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:58:50 PM
Sweet beauty and graceful words. Nice- Jerry- Just realized I've already reviewed some of your stuff three years ago. I haven't written much lately, inactive, so forgive me. Jerry

pondering the responcibility of an orchid (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:54:45 PM
It's enough. Take my word for it. You look into yourself, often and deeply. Use your spellcheck if you have one. You owe it to your readers to not distract them from the fine things and ideas you express. Give them your best in every way(just the way I see it).By the way, if I make any errors they're not spelling errors- Just because I can't type for shit. Jerry

buying time (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:44:44 PM
Neat and a good thing to aspire to. Think you can use it better, huh? Maybe. Good job- Jerry

for nielsie (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:42:22 PM
Been there- Loved being there and might again someday. A pleasure hard to beat. Jerry

hollow air (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:40:35 PM
I like this. An indication of what you can do and that's a lot. You're just warming up but you have to write to get where you want to be. It'll come because you have what it takes to be very good. A word for you- separating. Your friend- Jerry

Remembering What Matters (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:34:53 PM
Everything you say is true. Pick your battles and try to win a few.Idealists have to temper themselves and go where they can do the most good. Words for you: deteriorating, dissected, persistent- From the heart of your own personal spellchecker. Jerry

a smoke in the cold (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:29:29 PM
Get busy and write some more poetry on any subject, including your ideas and observations. You use words very well and with a freshness that's all yours, alone. Jerry

Foolish girl (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:25:22 PM
Sweetheart is the word to describe you, sweet meaning innocent and open and the advice you give to yourself here is precisely true. You have to live to learn-there is no other way, especially in the affairs of the heart. Good stuff! Jerry

poem for grandpa (Poetry) - 6/28/2008 11:20:31 PM
I love the way you express yourself, Madeline. You are very good and will continue to improve as you write more. I'm about where your grandpa is, agewise, I imagine. Something I do for my friends- don't be offended. In your background info- passivity, two esses. Genuinely- and emphysema- I can spell just about anything- always could. I'll be reading you. Try my Willow, Journey, Long Gone Love, Old Souls, Nevermore and Tasting The Night. Maybe Ashes In The Wind, too. Some of my best. Maybe we're related, in some distant, myster- ious way. After reading you, I sure hope so. All my best-Jerry-One other thing- Read Candy Gourlay from South Africa and dani from Australia. Two friends and two of the best on the net. Jump out and read a bunch and each time when you review them, refer them to one or two of your poems they should read and review. Get that dynamic going. You're too good to languish in anonymity. Talk later.J.

Remembering What Matters (Poetry) - 1/29/2006 6:01:50 PM
Maddy, Fires up the spirit. So much to do, so many forces set in opposition. You keep spreading this seed and it WILL take root. Peace, B

Remembering What Matters (Poetry) - 1/29/2006 8:34:42 AM
Very good 'wake up...people' poem.

Remembering What Matters (Poetry) - 1/23/2006 5:37:40 PM
This is interesting- since becoming disabled after working for 12 years for a big corporation I found out that at such jobs, you are nothing but a number, but at the same time, the cynicism that is so easy to get from such a place or attitude ends up making us blind to what is out there, and that has been my biggest shock, is that more everyday people do so much to help others everyday, and make it so we do not need the government as a big teet to suck off of, yet, at the same time, there are also many more ways that the gov't does help those in need, but the worst problem is is the lack of info on it, so if one doesn't search it out, or know of the resources to get those things, we, the poor, go without. Very thought-provoking, and as Ghandi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," it is always the best place to start.

hangin here (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:59:04 AM
I like this. It made me laugh. Jerry-I know the pleasures of being the marionette master.

immodest endeavor (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:53:42 AM
I'll "bare" with you anytime. See what I mean? (Chuckling wisely)- The poem? Perhaps Jerry

buying time (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:45:04 AM
Could be a song.Perception of time: I have a granite paperweight I gave my dad: God does not charge time spent fishing against a man's alloted life span. I ken what you're saying and if it seems to be so, so it is. Jerry-You're really good with words, gal.

a smoke in the cold (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:39:26 AM
Well said but it doesn't seem to be finished. I hope you don/t want only positive reviews. If so, tell me. You do know, darling, to have more fun with this exercise, take a couple of hours when you can, jump out and review quite a few poems and stories and give them suggestions as to which of your favorites to read, for you need their feedback. It helps a lot, I promise. Jerry-Then sit back and watch the reviews por in, make friends and learn.

unravelled and undone (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:32:37 AM
First a suggestion: read Candy Gourlay(South African) and Dani( Australian)- The two best here, I think. Mention my name and get a good seat.Laughing quietly. Ilike this poem a lot. You have something to say and a rythmic way of laying the words and ideas out. Good job. Don't ever stop. You're a natural, baby. Jerry

Foolish girl (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:24:25 AM
You go girl!! Jerry-How else are you going to find and recognize the boy/man you want to be with for awhile? Never expect a lifetime, baby.

we cry. (Poetry) - 7/17/2005 6:13:09 AM
This is a beauty, sweetheart. Why hasn't it been reviewed?A tip- You need to get a good friend who's a great speller and have him proofread every word you write. The misspelling takes away from the overall effect of your writing and you are damn good. Take care of it also for your readers sake. Try my Long Gone Love, Journey, Old Souls, Willow and Nevermore. Also Tasting The Night and Ashes in the wind. Short short story- The One That Got Away. Let me know what you think. These are my best. Jerry

hollow air (Poetry) - 6/30/2005 10:47:43 AM

This introspective poem was a pleasure to read.

soda-pop dreams and coaster realities (Poetry) - 1/29/2004 7:03:04 AM
another wonderful poem. You also come up with some fab titles. A famous poet once told me that if you throw in a little pop culture like soda-pop or wal-mart in your poems in a strange way it makes your poems timeless.

unravelled and undone (Poetry) - 1/29/2004 7:00:32 AM
this is a great poem. I tend to stay away from rhyme poetry (because most is sooo bad) but you did a wonderful job on this.

a smoke in the cold (Poetry) - 12/9/2003 6:48:40 PM
How to work this into a paen to coffin nails? Oh well, it's well done even if I hesitate to clap over the subject matter.

a smoke in the cold (Poetry) - 12/9/2003 6:04:21 PM
Like birds, the smokers gather, pecking at the paper, cocking their heads, turning their backs on the wind. Thanks, madeline.

This is such a good write on the plight of getting old. Seems as if there is not much thought on the part of many as to what it must be like to just want to finally let go. Thanks for sharing this wonderful thought provoking piece. Allen
