A Study of Wild Flowers By Tascha Dresser (Short Story) - 10/1/2024 3:05:34 AM
A perfect story for adolescents. I can see this as a springboard for a classroom discussion and a charitable community project.

A Study of Wild Flowers By Tascha Dresser (Short Story) - 9/30/2024 2:14:42 PM
A heartwarming story about how children are less afraid to approach someone new and help them out. I remember befriending a bunch of kids that didn't fit in very well in bringing them home where mom would feed them are good looking. My partner just had a homeless refugee from Venezuela come to her shop and ask for his phone to be charged. While it was charging, her sister-in-law found some clothes that no one had picked up and they shared them with him. They gave him some money and he cried. My partner realized that our handyman who is painting our house this week from Honduras was always in need of workers and asked for his help. They got along great and the homeless guy is now staying in one of the handyman's houses, paying rent from work he's doing and has one of the work trucks for him to use. That was all in the last month. Ron

THE CLOSET (IIII) (Poetry) - 8/30/2025 1:00:21 PM
It's hard for me to fully understand your plight, because I've always been in the light. But I understand why some people feel they need the security of where they are at, worried about coming out into the light. In your case, during special education you learned that you could write well. That ability enabled you to leave the dark and come into the light of freedom to study with your peers all the way through college. Although it was fearful to do, it was the right thing. Ron

LADYDAVID (Poetry) - 10/23/2024 7:27:04 AM
Desire, and societal judgment through a provocative dialogue about the human body and its representation. Rejection of society’s shame around physicality, highlighting that nature created us all as “works of art” rather than objects to be sexualised or degraded. The repeated motif of “David” — an allusion to Michelangelo’s famous statue — positions the body as a symbol of beauty and artistry rather than something sinful or shameful. Clever and deep writing.

Cemetery (Poetry) - 9/26/2024 9:56:26 AM
A dreary theme of what people can do to others without knowing it. The other day I went back to listen to Jean Pitney singing his hit song, Town without a Pity. That was back in 1961 about gossip.. With the advent of social media, the problem has become much worse. Ron

Wild Flowers ( The Garbage Barge) (Poetry) - 9/10/2024 11:00:48 AM
I like your comparison of street people with wildflowers. It is very apropos. And you are right to chastise those who looked down upon the less fortunate and treat them very badly. Ron

Cancer (Poetry) - 8/16/2024 2:14:16 PM
Bad behavior is a cancer like any other when it grows to the point of causing misery like you have described so well in so few words. Politicians with their greed disguised by catchy slogans easily reveal what they're really about. Not caring who they offend along the way or leave groveling in the dirt when they have the power to stop it. Even immediately by just changing their attitude. Ron

The Closet ( Toys) (Poetry) - 8/4/2024 8:26:08 AM
From my wonderful childhood, it's hard for me to imagine what some children have to go through. Your poetry begins to tell us how terrible it is for some. Ron

Whole (Poetry) - 5/30/2024 2:44:32 PM
That's the best we can do. Pick up the pieces and move on. At least that's what poem tells me. Ron

Lies (Poetry) - 3/28/2024 11:45:43 AM
That's one way to conquer lies. Write it loudly so that the world can see what is the truth and what is a lie. Ron

Splintered (Poetry) - 12/31/2023 1:49:55 AM
From my point of view and for what it's worth, you are beautiful. And I am neither inconvenienced nor confused. Well, sometimes, but not today.

Splintered (Poetry) - 12/21/2023 1:04:37 PM
Another entreaty to someone who has probably hurt you, perhaps, by neglect. But probably the kind of therapy you need to shed the grief of loss. Ron

Anybodys (Poetry) - 4/2/2022 1:06:43 PM
A strange story. Unsure why it is told. Ron

Beautiful and Brave (Poetry) - 1/18/2022 9:26:16 PM
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Mahatma Gandhi A strong person will look straight at fear/a loss in its core canter of the eye and will say, Get the hell out of my way. I have better things to do. I have a clear understanding of life which is a continuous process. I will popup again and again in all sorts of tides of life.

Want (Poetry) - 1/18/2022 9:15:27 PM
“The only thing a person can ever really do is keep moving forward. Take that big leap forward without hesitation, without once looking back. Simply forget the past and forge toward the future.” ... Remember what you are most grateful for and quickly forget what your not.”

Pass It On (Poetry) - 12/1/2021 2:17:00 AM
I love all your "wake up" calls. But I believe you overstate reality when you say "What matters is you carry with you the truth." Those who believe they carry the truth are part of the problem. Better to carry with you the search for answers because "the truth" can never be found. But what a great piece of writing!

Pass It On (Poetry) - 11/15/2021 9:39:25 AM
Some great questions raised about our relationships with others. So many are based on lies and when we find out the truth we can be devastated or we can learn and move on. Some heavy thoughts presented themselves as I read. Especially when my partner just told me that her doctoral student niece from an entirely different culture recently, during their honeymoon, discovered that she had lots of disagreements with her new husband already. Ron

Bad Boundaries (Poetry) - 11/15/2021 8:43:36 AM
That first stanza is great; full of energy, spitfire, blurty truth. It could stand alone even, and pack the punch the whole poem delivers. I like how natural and free you write of emotion. Today I read your poem “Pass it On,” about being glad to be alive. That was encouraging, and I’m glad you have that yin for the yang of this one. I call it the slap/kiss of life. Can’t have one without the other. You write courageously. ~~ djl

Daughter (Poetry) - 11/15/2021 8:31:21 AM
This is a bare naked truth so honest and raw. I would bet that the genders could be switched and it apply to some men about women, although I’d guess that would be less prevalent. For countless women, your concise light you shine by how you tell this is a shared sad and needful and mature story. And Brave. ~~ djl

All (Poetry) - 9/26/2021 9:53:09 AM
All lives matter may be true, but privilege and prejudice still exists. In your poem you are crying out for anyone to pay attention to your plight. Why you are singled out for your difference and not allowed to go to school with your peers. I don't know, because I never experienced that. When my shriveled and unmoving hands labeled me a crippled "handicapped" (cap In hand) individual, I demanded going back to my college studies the way they were before and excelling above all others so that they could not claim me different except as exceptional, something that even they, my detractors, could not achieve. Ron

Unicorn (Poetry) - 9/11/2021 10:44:05 AM
This is the best I've read from you. It not only applies to an Internet suitor, but applies to those who have narrow minds when it comes to their lives, living in rigid, often destructive, patterns that they think are the only way to live. Ron

Unicorn (Poetry) - 9/9/2021 8:29:43 PM
Very painful indeed! It even pains me to read this. People have to be more conscious and not ask any questions or make any false statements about what it takes for another to be happy. Everyone is fighting a battle within themselves and unless we know their scars, we have no right to judge them. Sandie

Bad Boundaries (Poetry) - 6/26/2021 7:48:00 AM
Painful to read. Describing what it must be like to be fearful of one that may have been loved but found out to be poisonous to a relationship. Ron

Before July (Poetry) - 6/8/2021 11:04:26 AM
Having been in this same position, Your words really touched my Heart… You capture the sense of loss and remembrance so well… Oh that month of July… When everything is highlighted, and brought into focus,,. Sending my best wishes.. Diana…

Before July (Poetry) - 6/7/2021 5:19:03 AM
I was reading and CRYING Your SAD WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva

Anomaly (Poetry) - 5/24/2021 5:29:39 AM
Your words can be applied to so many of the mindless detractors and their distractions. But why name them? They're everywhere.

Anomaly (Poetry) - 5/23/2021 8:39:17 AM
An interesting poem that asked questions unknown. I really couldn't try to answer because I'm not sure if it is written from the perspective of some alien viewpoint or simply mental illness viewing others as alien. Perhaps time will tell. Ron

Fine (Poetry) - 5/11/2021 8:35:21 AM
MAY YOU WILL BE FINE ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva

Fine (Poetry) - 5/3/2021 11:42:59 AM
It's a fine mess we get ourselves in. By this poem I see you're trying to get out of one. But I fear the recipient is too blind to see and is unable to read your plea. Ron

Fine (Poetry) - 5/3/2021 7:21:39 AM
Well said! You really are fine as you are... If others can’t accept this... You’re better off without them... Best wishes, Diana...

Fine (Poetry) - 5/2/2021 2:47:49 PM
Intriguingly enigmatic. Pssst, what is it that yer do? :)

Backwards (Poetry) - 4/30/2021 6:18:10 PM
Brilliance! Opposites are what is attractive. Yikes, I'd immediately dismiss another me. A magnet, EMF only works by opposites. The world is suffering from too much from sameitus. It is not about equality. Women have always ruled the world - they watch us like naughty kids. When will we learn, love, and appreciate the absolute beauty of difference?

Backwards (Poetry) - 4/29/2021 7:46:39 AM
Most people seek comfort in routine and relationships they feel akin to and can trust. It takes something more for them to seek out others that may not be like them all. I find it an adventure to relate to other people that I don't know, but haven't judged simply because I haven't experienced their culture or values. A good poem to think about, and then act, going further than we've ever gone before. Ron

I Can't Help It (Poetry) - 4/27/2021 8:49:58 AM
Tears certainly do come to us when we have that emotion. An emotion that may be hard to describe in words, but certainly knows how to show itself when we fear the worst. Well expressed. Ron

Blind (Poetry) - 4/10/2021 8:36:33 AM
This poem is very personal. But I look at it from what it is saying about you. You are not over this other person that you claim you are doing better than. If you were you wouldn't be writing the poem validating that you still have some wish to be close to this "blind" person to your needs and desires. Perhaps you never will be able to get back together again, as long as you have anger in your heart. Ron

False (Poetry) - 3/27/2021 9:20:00 AM
As I read I can't help thinking that you are writing about your perception of God with his/her all seeing eye watching over and determining what is true and what is not. Ron

Know Me (Poetry) - 3/12/2021 8:55:55 AM
It has been said that we cannot be humiliated, or put down without our permission. But I agree that self-esteem is hard to recapture when you are the victim.

Know Me (Poetry) - 3/9/2021 8:23:37 AM
Some great insight in bringing women out from under the shadow of men. Like the song, I Am Woman, this poem strikes a sounding note of independence and equality that has long been denied to women. Good for you as we come upon Worldwide Woman's Day. Ron

To You (Poetry) - 3/5/2021 5:47:32 AM
I LOVE YOUR WORDS, THEY ARE ALSO FROM MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva

To You (Poetry) - 3/3/2021 10:18:38 AM

Beautiful and Brave (Poetry) - 2/22/2021 11:18:43 AM
I guess we all are, if given the chance… Ron

Duality (Poetry) - 2/20/2021 9:36:19 AM
I like that you wrote, "Forget hell." The only way we can conjure up hell is from our own experience. We all experience shades of heaven and hell. It's all how we look at it that makes all the difference. Thanks for pointing that out to us… Ron

Duality (Poetry) - 2/15/2021 5:54:52 AM
you are so right

Duality (Poetry) - 2/14/2021 4:55:31 PM
No one is ever one dimensional. A wise poem.

Want (Poetry) - 11/23/2020 6:05:06 PM
Heartbreaking. To see that the one you love actually loves another. There's no choice but to let them go.

Want (Poetry) - 11/4/2020 8:22:17 AM
A very personal write not really addressed the poetry reading public. So I cannot comment except to say I see an obsession that needs to be resolved. Ron

Rembrandt In Holland (Poetry) - 10/31/2020 5:26:03 AM
a fine look inside a great artist

Rembrandt In Holland (Poetry) - 10/30/2020 1:38:13 PM
Rembrandt is no less thought of another great artists like the ones you mentioned. You took on his personality and thoughts quite well. Although I have not read what his thoughts were about other artists of his time and earlier. So many great artists were taught by masters that are relatively unknown, or came out of schools of thought and artistry that supported and enhanced their work. We all stand on the shoulders of giants. Love the poem. Ron

Pretend (Poetry) - 6/15/2014 12:36:14 AM

Inheritance (Poetry) - 10/7/2013 7:49:11 PM
wonderful inheritance...and a beautiful tribute this is

Inheritance (Poetry) - 9/23/2013 7:50:55 AM
As you have so brilliantly expressed, some deaths are harder to take than others, especially if there is suffering involved. Ron

Inheritance (Poetry) - 9/22/2013 1:26:57 PM
Very nice tribute. Michael D.

My Time (Poetry) - 9/10/2013 4:57:26 AM
very well penned budd

My Time (Poetry) - 9/9/2013 12:45:10 PM
The fire that burns within is different for each of us. But burn it must, and it refused to be extinguished. Yours is a strong message about the fire of life. And so well said.

Pretend (Poetry) - 9/6/2013 7:08:34 PM
Lacking self-consciousness, the world imagine that is anything more, because it just is. The hard thing about self-aware humanity is that we have a sense of self. So we pose, we pretend because what so many undesignated others may pretend, matters to us even more. Hard to break that cycle of nervous projection and introspection. We love being posers and actors. Even though we may deny it. But we really know what matters. Do we? Interesting poem Tascha. Bob

Pretend (Poetry) - 8/18/2013 7:39:58 AM
Thank you for the comments. I hope you liked the poem.

Pretend (Poetry) - 8/18/2013 7:02:55 AM
Interesting thoughts. When something is missing in a person's life, and they don't find reality very pleasant, they often drift into a pretend existence that makes everything better. A pretend existence can create a great story like Alice in Wonderland or it can lead to insanity. I recommend living each day in reality rather than pretending. Ron
