That certainly is a "wild ride" in the excerpt. I've been known to catch an exit like that without being chased. ;-) Although I don't believe that modern safety glass causes those kinds of cuts you described. And, I believe you meant that you "cut off," the minivan, not "cut up."

Ronald Hull, the excerpt IS from a page in the book. It is part of the introduction.
As for your 'free lunch' comment, I am bemused.

You seem to have a rather eclectic and, possibly, humorous view of the foibles of humans and technology. But this book at 27 pages and $134, astounds me. I have published stories here three times that length.
The write up for this one is repetitious and tells very little. I guess if you gave us a reasonable excerpt, you'd have to give us the whole story. ;-)
That's what I do by the way, I post all of my short stories here in their entirety and only put them up for sale in collections.
