Blue Heron (Poetry) - 6/14/2014 8:24:28 AM
One of the most magnificent birds in nature. Beautiful poem making me wish I was there.

A lovely nature lovers poetic song...
Blue Heron (Poetry) - 6/13/2014 3:10:17 PM
You have so perfectly captured the image! It's as if the heron is dancing at the edge of water, browsing among the vegetation for its breakfast or dinner!
Evidence (Poetry) - 3/22/2014 1:20:17 PM
i like how the descriptive nature of this poem develops into a metaphysical motif ...
Evidence (Poetry) - 3/21/2014 6:33:31 PM
A very soulful poetic song. Well done Laura! I had my first margarita this year a few days ago. Well I guess I lost my taste for the sweet stuff so I will just stick to my Merlot wine. Amen!

This poem is deep. It shows the authors feelings and emotions. I think this is well-delivered for the purpose through the margarita!

Your poem shows mastery over sensory perception and memory. Last night, I could taste the same margarita that I read of here today on Monterey Bay. I could never stand the pain of ice blocks bouncing against my lips in favor of drinks at room temperature or in the case of margaritas, frozen. Strangely, drinking a good margarita never brought infidelity to mind. ;-)

tasty ...
Dolci di Mare (Poetry) - 11/28/2013 5:41:31 AM
A good poet can find any experience as a window to poetry. Done with indulgence Laura. Makes me long for a taste of dessert..Just the thing for a diabetic like me..Bob

Reads like a fine chef's menu. They sure can make up luscious sounding names for those dishes.

Shaggy Dog Story (Poetry) - 10/15/2013 5:45:21 PM
Cute write but have you not forgotten something?...when you are expected to fetch his slippers do you not have to put up with even more? And a shortened life span to boot.
Shaggy Dog Story (Poetry) - 10/1/2013 11:09:55 AM
There was something grotesque or diabolical about this… can't quite put my finger on it.
The best lines were… “I’d get all the affectionate
pats on the head and hugs I wanted
without ever having to sleep with him.”

Very pretty descriptions!
Confectionery (Poetry) - 7/5/2013 6:20:06 AM

Growing Up (Poetry) - 6/13/2013 7:37:13 AM
Strange. I can't recall any boy eager to run across the dance floor and grab the hand of the girl in seventh grade. Girls were just much too much bigger and more mature. Made us guys look weak and shy.

At Leffingwell Landing (Poetry) - 5/19/2013 3:13:36 PM
WoW! Profound and sad memories, enough to bring the reader to tears. Actually, in my opinion, the sea, or ocean us an excellent way to give in to our sadness. It being as one with tragedy throughout history.
At Leffingwell Landing (Poetry) - 5/18/2013 11:03:50 AM
It's unfortunate that scenes at the seashore bring sad memories. The California Coast gives me regret, as well for not being able to see it again and to remember the great times I had there so long ago.
