I'm a little older than that and you've given me some ideas that I should be pursuing.
I must caution you about the 50s though. At that age, children who have lost their jobs may come home to roost. Women at that age tend to have problems with their emotions during menopause.
You also recommend early retirement. A former secretary of mine, after working 35 years had reached the requirement for retirement through our pension plan. She retired to have fun with her mother, who she had lived with all her life. A year after she retired, her mother died, hitting her hard. She tried to come back and work for the University like so many others had, but was unable to do so. She died last week at 57.

Yes, a Christ focused life can be wonderful. That is if we are drive to be close to Him. Jesus makes a huge impact in my life. He gives me meaning. He gives me hope and he gives me love and many Fruits of the Spirit. These Fruits give me faith that life is worth living. Without Him I would be as lost as a chicken without a head running around a circle. With Him I can experience Miracles life never before. He hS opened my eyes so I can see, hear and feel His presence. What a JOY it is to have Christ. He is truly everything. Amen.

I guess we should always try to remember the good things about a relationship, trying to forget the bad.
