The world of the King James Bible having a vampire story -- oh man this is rich as hell; I have to hand it to you doing a horror story in the time when science was young too. I know there are ideas for you to mess with the King James Only Movement as I have a story in an anthology I am overseeing that I will be swiping at them big time. Well done man -- I like the way this is played out in an era of superstition and the Salem Witch Trials.

I don't believe that ghosts exist, in spite of all the hullabaloo in the media about them. There also are so many eyewitnesses out there, who for one reason or another, claim that they have seen ghosts. I have seen images flash by in half sleep, but I know, that they are conjured up in my brain, like dreams as part of my memory rearranging from short-term to long-term.
Given that, Sarah's description of her surroundings is rather prosaic and falls flat for me. Even the come on to join her, doesn't encourage me to read further.

Are Rattlesnakes becoming more poisonous? (Article) - 7/20/2013 8:57:32 AM
New world vipers, like rattlesnakes, survived for millions of years by warning predators with their rattles and until recently that has been enough to assure their survival as a species. But over the past 200 or so years human encroachment and 'rattlesnake roundups' have seriously diminished their numbers. Especially those that 'buzzed' were killed off (perhaps due to a religious bias against 'serpents') and more and more it became a survival trait to remain silent. Nowadays it is more likely to find rattlers which do not buzz until after they've bitten an interloper. It is great that a synthetic anti-venom treatment is available. Until recently capturing and milking poisonous snakes was the only way to create a cure. However, that involved returning donors to the wild because they were not welcome in the communities where they had been found. But that doomed them to death because they would not have been welcome in other burrows or among strange den families. Perhaps they are becoming more venomous because that is the only thing predators understand. Like most species in the world, they are fighting for the future. Nice article. Thanks.

Thank you all. I wrote this in Highschool (1991) for a girl I cared very much about. For a long time I had a crush on her, but she was engaged to a guy in the Airforce. He could not take her to Prom so we went to Prom together. She was one of my best friends. After HighSchool she married and I never saw her again...until nearly 20 years later. We reconnected through Facebook and rekindled our friendship. A few years later we moved in together as friends / room mates. That relatioship grew over time to be more. Now we are companions. She kept the poems I wrote her all these years. So, I typed them up here to add to my resume.
