I can honestly say that this is one of the most unusual books I've ever read. It was definitely not what I was expecting. The writing style feels a lot like a memoir with a very conversational tone. I liked this aspect as it made for very easy and fast reading.
Unfortunately, the plot was not my cup of tea. I think it was mostly because I went into the book expecting one thing and ended up getting something completely different.
I think many people would enjoy the story but it just wasn't for me.
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm sorry that you are treated that way. I can see both sides viewpoint without getting into a brawl over it. Like our recent wars, we had no business messing in the Civil War that did nothing to protect our country and killed, maimed, and psychologically messed up a lot of your comrades in an environment that was totally foreign to you.
I was in college (not dodging the draft, I was there to get an education, unlike so many) and ended up being 1Y as far as my draft board was concerned. I never looked down at any of my contemporaries that went to Vietnam or treated them badly. I've known a couple that got very good jobs because of their service. Others that went into business or went on to college on the G.I. Bill.
If you have some stories about the war, I'd like to read them. This was merely a rant.

I haven't read any of your other stories, but I checked your bio and we are the same age. However, because of your association with airlines, you have led a charmed life that most people only dream of.
I have not been to Stonehenge, but I have seen the tomb beneath the Stepped Pyramid and have visited many ancient and interesting sites like Tikal and Banbhore as well as countless temples. I have never once had any eerie feelings around these places, only great respect for what ancient people had accomplished.
As far as erosion is concerned, did you know that the Blarney Stone has lost 1/5 of its mass because of all the kissing? Please note that this is a stupid theory and has no basis in fact whatsoever. But if you put it in writing and repeat it enough, there are a certain number of suckers out there who will firmly believe it and become part of your cult of believers.
For myself, I find that true stories based on fact are far more interesting than all the garbage out there about flying saucers, ancient aliens, Bigfoots, ghosts, and Nessies pretty much a waste of research money, television viewing, and reading time.
But that's just my opinion, and what the hell do I know, anyhow?
