A quick read of short stories with each one having its own unique twist. As you are reading along and begin to believe you have the ending figured out, the story suddenly takes an unexpected turn. Each story has its own ironic ending. I did find it difficult occasionally understanding the foreign brogue but it is still a very enjoyable book. I read it in one setting. 'Aiding & Abetting & Other Tales' is a very easy read. I enjoyed the turns and twists that Liam Leddy took with each tale. His is a unique literary technique.

I would give this book 3 stars.
After having visited Scotland and being enamoured of the country and its history I was hoping for something different I suppose. This book is more about the seedier side of modern urban Scottish life. The author does a very fine job of portraying those elements if this is the type of reading experience that you are looking for.

I use real Glasgow dialogue for reality and authenticity. It is crime fiction after all. Not many criminals are known either for grammatical correctness or superb manners.There must be some I suppose. Apologies if so
