I second all that you have written. Thank you for sharing that the world of literature is our history––the entire world's history––not just Greco Roman or Western European history, but the history of all people for all time. These writings, some so ancient as being difficult to translate, tell us who we are and what we were doing at the time they were written, and how much we have progressed since.
It is often pointed out that young people today have a very poor concept of history or geography. It is also been written that, “those who ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.”
Everyone here who considers himself or herself to be a writer should read what you have written. Unfortunately, few will comment.
