Sounds like you found your ideal car. Very good sales pitch for it.
My encounter was a bit different. In 1968, I have been driving two identical 1957 DeSoto Firedomes from 1964 and was looking to upgrade to something newer. Had me looking at a 1966 Dodge Charger, a 1965 Avanti, a 1965 Buick Riviera, and a 1967 big block Corvette with everything including theft protection. Unfortunately that car was too much to handle.
I did see a 1957 Chrysler 300C in a used car lot and tried it out just for fun, because I really wanted to upgrade from the pushbutton transmission, etc. The Bonnevile speed champ car was a beautiful eggshell white with a tan leather interior and really performed when I took it out on 101 and let the glass pack mufflers roar. I immediately thought I would be picked up by the California Highway Patrol. I should've, would've, didn't buy that car, or would be very valuable today but not as valuable as that difficult to drive big block Corvette. I settled for a Toronado that took me everywhere at 90 mph until 1975 when I traded it in on a much tamer 1973 Monte Carlo.
