What a beautiful write this is. It is full of cheer and makes one want to display glad tidings toward others. Your poem has brought on thoughts about my sister-in-law who passed away in 2006. She was such a happy person. When she walked into a room, everything stopped and all attention focused on her. Not only was there happiness in her voice, it was expressed all over her face. She was more like my sister than sister-in-law, and I cannot say enough good things about her. I so look forward to your next write.

Beautifully written with such lilting rhyme it would make a beautiful song.
You reminded me that every time over the years we were able to get back to our parents house that moved from time to time to different places, we would pull out some of the old albums that go through them from front to cover with mom's notations under each photo. Bringing back memories of all those happy times when those pictures were taken.

I hardly know what to say, for it seems that anything I might say about this piece is insufficient. There are times, when I read a poem or read through a passage in prose, that I wish I had stated what that person had written for others to enjoy. I don’t want it to be from a jealous heart but to simply be from the beauty of that person’s words. That is how this piece has drawn me to its beauty. It cannot be explained, only enjoyed. I read this poem to my mother just now, because she has dementia ( Lewy-body) and today forgot that she had lost her mother decades ago. She was wanting to meet her in our town today. When she remembered her mom had died many years ago, she cried and dad and I comforted her. I read this poem to her, and it brought her SUCH comfort. She smiled at me, and said That's a good poem. That was a Special Santa from Heaven, special delivery. The folks might have wrapped those presents but Jesus was really beneath the tree. Giving out of their hearts was the love planted by God. Some may not understand it and for others it may seem odd. But there is a reason for the season. It's all His victory! Prayers do get answered if we believe what we cannot see!

What a beautiful thought about how we should look at life as children. My creative search never wanes and I never seem to be able to learn enough. I look at life the way you describe it without fear because fear only drags us down and causes misery for others.
By being open to many possibilities, when an adult decision faces me, I'm able to make it without running and hiding like a child might.

My Mom passed at 39 years young. She got hit by a car as she crossed the road. She left eight kids behind, me the oldest. I had alot of responsibility as a teen. I miss her so much, Kathy. For those still blessed enough to have their Mom's cherish them.

Excellent theoretic poem! What you and I call survival mode a person in Nigeria would call living in the lap of luxury. Lets face it, we in America are blessed. That being said, too many folks in our town wind up homeless. If we are careless with what God has provided we can wind up in that kind of survival mode. Jesus Christ is in my heart. The fact that it will soon be Easter is a reason to celebrate a brand new start! It's life eternal that's what I am after. I want to live with Jesus in the hereafter. Only He can make me so happy today. Only Jesus can make me feel this way. Death does not phase me, it does not scare me at all. I welcome it in my time, for death will eventually takes us all. Why would anyone roll the dice on an ETERNAL happy ever after? Yes, we are all here for a reason, thank you for the reminder Kathy. Amen!

How's this for a mom's spirit at work: While doing an internet search for something else, up jumped two old recordings (c. 1948) by two of the most talented performers who ever lived (Jo Stafford and Gordon Macrea). Both were my mom's favorite songs. I did not know that either recording existed.
