Thank you Eva and Ron for taking the time to read and comment. Your reviews were both great and harsh. I have corrected a few things on this, my first attempt at a horror story, especially the problem with the name. I will keep the mystery about the tonic to the imagination of the reader. But no, Ron, the boy did not recover.

Yes, I agree with Eva. Why was the bottle containing poison? Was it intended for someone else in the house? And picked up accidentally?
And, did the boy really recover from an overdose of nerve tonic? I think that would be better. Or was it her imagination?
A good story like this should contain some unknown mystery. This one certainly does.

I enjoyed your well-written horror story which did raise the hairs on the back of my neck. Just a picayune thing - you had two different spellings for the nanny: Clare and Clair. However, I am wondering how poison got in that brand new bottle of nerve tonic.
