Bedtime Prayer (Poetry) - 10/21/2018 6:13:34 PM
Send them to NJ, I rarely get to meet vampires, demons & the boogey man, might be fun to party with them...-e-

It's about time! Love the humor in this ghoulish poem.

Bedtime Prayer (Poetry) - 10/21/2018 9:12:37 AM
Had to chuckle at this cut write, and I have to ask, do you sleep with lights on?
Bedtime Prayer (Poetry) - 10/21/2018 7:47:41 AM
Some cool reflections within the lines of this effort by you.
Bedtime Prayer (Poetry) - 10/20/2018 10:46:38 PM
Amen.
Great poem to ward off the demons and the monsters!

Afraid Of The Light (Poetry) - 10/19/2018 1:21:47 PM
The movies will do that to you. Don't let anybody turn on a bright light while you're sleeping. On the other hand, I watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre one time and now I lop off limits for a living. ;-)

Afraid Of The Light (Poetry) - 10/18/2018 8:32:48 AM
Heh.Heh Yes indeed, that time is here again. Your poem got me thinking back when I was a kid (Yes, I really can think that for in the past!
Afraid Of The Light (Poetry) - 10/18/2018 7:43:43 AM
Can't win for losing. A creepy write.
The baby bat,
screamed out in fright.
Turn on the dark,
I'm afraid of the light.

Afraid Of The Light (Poetry) - 10/17/2018 10:47:37 PM
I thought that was the easiest way to go to the other side when you die in your sleep. You'll never feel any pain. You just sleep and never wake up to this world again.

The Storyteller (Poetry) - 10/5/2018 11:39:26 AM
Great poem, this could so work when reading in front of children. I'm a poet who's starting to write more story-based poems, I can learn a finger to from you.
The Storyteller (Poetry) - 9/18/2018 7:16:56 AM
A wonderful story poem that can be read to children and they will understand because the language is rather straightforward and without the twists that usually are in poetry. Kudos. And kudos for the matching illustration.
Ron
The Storyteller (Poetry) - 9/17/2018 9:05:36 PM
Nicely done. I enjoyed the story, but I agree with Jerry. It was a little long.
The Storyteller (Poetry) - 9/17/2018 11:21:36 AM
Excellent (if a bit long) poetry, and the last line, as in so many poems, was the absolute kicker.
The Storyteller (Poetry) - 9/17/2018 10:48:16 AM
This is truly an inspirational poem. It moves me too. We are all so very special and unique. Where we have come from and how we had lived our lives have helped to shape us who we are today. Every step of our existence is valuable in helping to shape us. No one can say that others' lives aren't as good as their own or vice versa.
The storyteller was a wise man. He has just told the best story to the little girl who will from now on values her own existence.

The Intern (Poetry) - 7/22/2018 11:24:22 AM
Hurts to think of anyone being that used and dispensable. Well penned.
The Intern (Poetry) - 7/8/2018 8:12:18 AM
A growing trend that will only get worse. I recall when interns were paid well because they came in usually with some new skills that companies needed. Today, all of the skilled jobs are very high skills like computer coding and all that the company needs are workers who do either repetitive hand tasks or interact with the public in help lines. Unpaid internships is just another way of ripping people off like cutting hours below 40 per week to avoid paying benefits.
Reality shows like Dirty Jobs and Undercover Boss are revealing what is really happening to the workforce these days. And it's not what the college recruiters are telling us.
Your poem isn't long enough. It points out the fallacy of unpaid internships so very well.
Ron
The Intern (Poetry) - 7/7/2018 2:55:51 PM
Well, you only volunteer your service when you know what you're getting into, otherwise, it is better to leave early than late. Never let anyone rip you off!
I have the time, but I don't volunteer. I had begun working when I was 15, and it is time I should relax. Why bother with work that doesn't pay me?

The Intern (Poetry) - 7/7/2018 7:36:48 AM
Back in tha day, I usually beat those companies to the punch. My "system" was wanderlust and the ability to walk out that door, never to return. I had a good trade (linotype operator), which usually meant I could find work very quickly.
The Intern (Poetry) - 7/7/2018 5:46:16 AM
The 3rd and last stanza were just spot on. My personal pet peeve is temp agencies. A person can get hired in as a temp, work full time for months, and never get hired in. It's just another way companies can take advantage of workers. Temps get paid less, and have no benefits. And if they should happen to get sick and miss a day, they're out the door. If a person is lucky enough to get hired by the company, you still have to make it through a probation period, even though they've been working there right along. Every right the American worker fought for are being taken away one by one.
Sand Between Your Toes (Poetry) - 7/5/2018 9:24:02 PM
I hear this quite well as I was born and raised on a NJ beach with ocean crashing against the shore in the background of life, as it always will be within my thoughts forever...-e-
Sand Between Your Toes (Poetry) - 7/5/2018 8:42:25 AM
It doesn't matter if it's a lake, ocean, or just along a creek. There's something about the sounds that are so relaxing, and the peace it brings.
Sand Between Your Toes (Poetry) - 7/5/2018 7:37:49 AM
Your poem sure brought the good life out in me. For some reason I can only stand the beach, its constant wind, sun and sunburn, sand that gets in everything, chill at night and greedy mosquitoes, only so long. And that incessant sound of the waves rolling in that drives me nuts.
A great place to visit. But I wouldn't want to live there.
Ron
Sand Between Your Toes (Poetry) - 7/4/2018 4:51:42 PM
Yes indeed, that feeling of "Sand Between Your Toes," is mighty hard to beat.

Counting The Stars One By One (Poetry) - 6/17/2018 5:59:07 PM
LOL!!! Although I'd like to count the star, I have not the patience to count them all, but this is a delightful poem to read. Thank you for sharing!

Nicely done, but 1 question remains. Do you count shooting stars?

Contradictions (Poetry) - 6/14/2018 1:02:02 PM
You mixed it up,
and mixed it up well.
Now I'm all mixed up,
But your poem was swell.
Contradictions (Poetry) - 6/14/2018 8:56:36 AM
I really enjoyed the truth in these lies. Laughed out loud as I read. Much better than my Conundrums… Much, much better.
Ron
Contradictions (Poetry) - 6/13/2018 8:48:50 PM
I like the contradiction in each line which makes the poem more interesting and amusing. Also, this flows well with great rhymes. I really enjoyed reading this from beginning to end. Thank you for a delightful poem!
Sandie :)
Want To Be An Author? (Poetry) - 6/13/2018 7:36:32 AM
Ah . . . You took me back to my first book. I tried and tried to interest the big publishing houses as I continued writing my second novel. I finally settled on Lulu.com.
Want To Be An Author? (Poetry) - 6/11/2018 9:34:57 AM
Wonderful satire of a difficult profession for most. I think we write for the love of it rather than recognition and money. There are a million ways to get recognized, but we are more likely to be recognized for something other than our writing and then be able to sell our books because of that unrelated incident--our 15 minutes of fame (infamy).
Ron
Want To Be An Author? (Poetry) - 6/11/2018 7:28:31 AM
Everyone says that being a writer is a lonely task, unless you get very lucky, and me too.
Cheers and good luck,

I Saved A Couple Yesterdays (Poetry) - 6/7/2018 12:36:57 PM
Seems like I'm doing that more and more. Unfortunately, each time I go back, I seem to lose more of the essence.

I Saved A Couple Yesterdays (Poetry) - 6/7/2018 7:50:33 AM
Does that mean it's yesterday once more? Enjoyed the write.
Just The Other Day (Poetry) - 6/2/2018 1:58:25 PM
Once the father, always a father. Let us hope she will be at your side when you are in your greatest need. For you were there for her until she no longer needed.
