This has been an emotional journey for two people from completely different backgrounds. I am from the Northeast and Kent Mullins is from Kentucky. He enlisted in the Marines in 2010 and was sent to the front line to fight the Taliban. Additionally and for absolute clarity, this has been a joint effort of pains and joys of writing that are narrative, editing, reediting and self-publishing. Kent's story, although told only through his eyes, is also exactly what each and every one of our Marines experiences from Parris Island to Afghanistan. It is intense and some of you will not be able to handle it. It will provoke thought and hopefully strip us down to realize that when we leave this earth, we leave only with our character. JM

There's a lot to learn from angels, mentors, and teachers. I've been helping a woman who has seen it all in her life and still feels the pangs of leaving home at an early age and developing rage she cannot control to this day.
