The excerpts from A Damaged Mirror are all told by Ovadya ben Malka and so are mostly holocaust stories. He also wrote poems and other things not included in the book, which I'll post here eventually.

This is a clever use of the symbols that bind us to words. Without the simple and accurate use of rules of grammar, we would only write long continuous and incomprehensible sentences. Maybe that's why there's a barb in that semicolon. That was a fun poem to read. Bob

Where there is life...the point being that no matter the expanse of wasteland, life grows anywhere and after any catastophe, be it minor or major. But now that I study the last verse, you do get the point. Never being sheltered from the vicissitudes of life, not truly, we all find that out sooner or later. Our God never told us we would be forever protected. Just that we are his, forever. You have framed this piece just for questioning Yael. In it is all the answer we need to the questions.
