I have written on the same problem. This schism between people who are generally 99.9% of the same DNA and similar enculturation, seems rooted in our culture. Some religions would call it the "devil" in each of us. I said it a bit different though, that Us and Them should become "We."

There is no creative process outside of brains. When a species starts some new activity, either by accident or by force from the outside (often a genetic defect with a positive outcome) it is creation. Humans are the most creative, constantly changing their behavior to improve their survival, through invention and inspiration. As a result, strangely, we have created something we call a "creator" to try to explain why the are so creative. Very strange, indeed. Why don't we just acknowledge that we are creative? Probably because if we make a mistake in our creation, we won't be blamed for it. We can always blame the creator as being outside of our brains. He did it, I didn't.

Spirits in photographs? My eye. There are many reasons for anomalies in photographs as you mentioned. Spirits are not one of them. However, there are a lot of folks out there that will believe anything and are with you 100%. I'm not. I don't buy all this spiritual stuff because our brains create everything we feel and think and many times our brains fool us into thinking things that are not real. You can call it spiritual if you like. I call it foolishness.

I agree with the ideas you have expressed. I also agree that modern technology like cell phones and the Internet are rapidly bringing us all together into a single world culture that is more tolerant and understanding of our differences, creating fewer demons and more solutions.
