Hi Ron,
I agree with you. The system is set in a very counter-intuitive way. While we are focusing on undocumented immigration, we are forgetting about legal immigration. I am not really fighting for immigration reform, although I think we should have one. I am fighting against the unfair practices which actually goes against the existing immigration laws because of abuses of discretion. Bottom line I am fighting for civil rights.

Immigration reform is sorely needed. However, the way our government operates, any new law will probably be far more complex and full of flaws than previously because of compromises in the political process that create these loopholes and conflicts.
I personally have known several who have entered the country as a tourist/visitor and stayed, never returning to their countries, having used that entry to mask their intent. Some have succeeded, through work, to gain citizenship.
Unfortunately, people everywhere, regardless of their background, often find that by some form of cheating, they will get ahead. That makes it difficult for those who do the right thing.
