Once again, very well written and very heartwarming. I believe for a woman, especially when with a child at home, it is more difficult to leave the warm environment of a loving father and mother.
I left home for college still single. At 18, it was no big deal, just a stage of growing up and moving out. I only returned for many visits to my loving parents. I've made many new homes since then, each remembered in a different way. And some I could never return to, like living with my parents again.

I am glad you posted this piece . I must say it is one of a kind, how an only daughter takes up the daunting responsibility of one's own family is a matter of pride not only to her but the wonderful parents who have taught her the right values. Kuddos to you! JK

Very poignant and well written. My twin brother's wife was killed accidentally when she fell from a balcony a month ago. Yesterday, a friend of mine who has been struggling with spinal problems, surgeries and illnesses like diabetes, estranged from her only daughter, was declared brain dead with only her longtime friend at her side who took her to the hospital the night before with an intestinal infection.
Life is short. We must make sure that we give each other the love we deserve.
