While my hearing impairment and your voice didn't quite match while you are reading from your book, I can see from the reviews that you have that readers really like your trilogy, at least a second book in the trilogy. I get vibes of Mr. Robot from what is described.

I know you are trying to introduce the children to exotic animals, but a manatee in the house, or even a squirrel, would be very unwelcome and unlikely for the manatee that spends its life in water… Unless you are dealing with imaginary friends for a poor schnauzer that is locked in the house all day and uses his detective agency as a way to get over his boredom. BTW, many dogs know how to open doors. Like children.
A good dog owner as an outside area and a doggy door for them to leave the house and have the freedom of the outdoors so that that good nose can smell what's going on. There, a squirrel, and even a rat, would be good, and more realistic, partners in crime.
Using the Internet is a nice twist on an old story. Butt doesn't get the children reading out of the house with fresh air and exercise. Encourages them to view the world from the computer rather than life's experiences.

A brief history of humankind from hunter gatherer to spaceman, provided by a morphing stained-glass window (high-resolution video screen?) In a church with a single singer.
A rather unique delivery with mostly very detailed, yet still sketchy descriptions of certain events/eras of human history. There is no action except in the descriptions and the woman singer's reaction to the panels. In the end, a very dystopian, apocalyptic ending.
I admire creativity, but I didn't particularly like the story. It didn't grab me emotionally.

I normally don't have time to read stories this long, but I'm glad I did, this one. While your story isn't as wild as Mr. Robot, it certainly is as apropos to today's situation as anything I've read recently and is sci-fi is as good for the near future as anything out there. There's always danger in this kind of near prediction, but I think you're quite safe with what you have predicted.
I, too, have become very concerned about the size and power of corporations no longer operating under the laws of any country and able to manipulate laws in their favor through gross bribery of governments worldwide.
I love your characters, not only well thought out, but well portrayed by your artist at the end of the story. And, the way it ends makes me want to read more.
