The Older Generation’s Guide to Facebook Etiquette (Article) - 9/17/2014 6:23:34 AM
I'm sorry, but I laughed a bit as I read. All my life, the older generation (and now many much younger than I) had trouble using computer devices and would immediately latch onto something they could do and immediately abuse it. ;-) I've known about Facebook since its inception. I decided not to join Facebook or any of the other numerous social networks except this one which takes entirely too much of my time already.
Yet, I find that my 89-year-old mother "likes" Facebook even though she, through small mini strokes, has basically lost her ability to use a computer. I have also found that much of the younger generations in my family no longer share pictures and emails with me because they are "on Facebook." So, in spite of my better judgment, I may have to go on Facebook just to find out what's happening in my family. Face-to-face conversation seems to be fast becoming a lost art for instant gratification and gossip. If I was on Twitter, I'd twitter that right away as my thought for the day. ;-)
