I just completed the third book in the "Trudie Fine Mysteries" by Gale Deitch. 'Fine Arts' is another wonderful light-hearted mystery finding Trudie Fine, yet again, involved in another murder mystery.
Trudie and Zach, her longtime friend and business partner in a catering business called "A Fine Fix", has recently went into partnership with Jennifer, the owner of a coffee shop that is providing Trudie and Zach with breads, rolls, cakes and pastries. Thus far, the partnership had been great, but while serving an art exhibit for Jennifer's life partner, Rose, a murder takes place landing Trudie right into the middle of yet another murder case. Of course, Trudie's boyfriend, Daniel, is one of the investigative detectives assigned to the case.
This book added an extremely intelligent dog named Zeus, who almost steals the show...I loved the fact that Jennifer hand-baked doggie treats for Zeus at the coffee shop and the recipe is included at the end of the book.
Gale Deitch has an amazingly soft and easy writing style that catches the reader's attention and keeps it from the beginning of the book until the very end. The final chapter has a wonderful surprise that causes me to think...another sequel coming? Hope, hope!
I really enjoy reading works from Gale Deitch and this is another fine example. 'Fine Arts' is a great stand-alone novel, but more fun reading them in order to learn more about the back stories and sub-plots.
I highly recommend you check out all three 'Trudie Fine Mysteries." 'Fine Arts' is yet another "thumbs up" book. Although there is the seriousness of murder and other crimes, it is still an easy read and definitely a page-turner. I couldn't put it down!!!

'Fine Dining' is another excellence Trudie Fine novel by Gale Deitch!
Although there is crime, bullying, extortion and murder, it is still a very light-hearted, fun and easy read. I practically read it straight through. It's very hard to put down.
The book has numerous plots and story lines, but primarily Trudie Fine finds herself in the middle of a murder case and jumps to the rescue of the murder victim's sister. There are several sub-plots that keeps the reader on the edge of their seats, but behind the scenes is a wonderful romance. I really enjoyed the shadow of jealousy on both parties, Trudie and Daniel, made me chuckle...
Gale Deitch has a wonderful and easy writing style that I just love! The novel just flows...I simply just can't say enough! The book seems to just write itself. I can't wait to read Trudie Fine, book three.
I most definitely recommend checking this book out. Thumbs Up! Absolutely a five star rating.

'A Fine Fix' is a cute and fun murder mystery. Who knew that was even possible? Apparently, Gale Deitch did! A very light-hearted mystery novel involving murder, stalking, mayhem, crime, love, drama, jealousy and so much more.
I started thinking I had it solved midway through, but there are several twists and turns that cause you to doubt and keep you guessing.
'A Fine Fix' is a very enjoyable read. I couldn't put it down, read it in two days. The food references and in place of curse words is quite funny! I am so looking forward to reading additional works by Gale Deitch.
Don't pass this one up, loads of fun and very well-written. It's a winner!

A good enjoyable mystery, which makes a change to have a heroine who isn't slim and pretty. I felt that I could identify with curvy Trudie Fine who just loves her food and loves to cook it!
There are some red herrings in this mystery and some twists that I didn't see coming.
I liked Trudie and her partner, Zach, they worked well together and were a good combination.
There was lots of humour and funny moments.
Trudie moaned that she'd had her share of unrequited love and had never had a boyfriend but I did find it hard to believe that not one, not two, but three very handsome very eligible young men were interested in her and were falling over themselves for her in this story. This just made the story too unreal for me.
An intriguing mystery overall, and I would be interested to see how this series develops in the future.....preferably without all the love interests!

Who else but Gale Deitch can combine catering, the high end art world, and agility competition into a page turner? An excellent whodunit.. cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Fine Dining has it all. One chaos causing relative, jealous characters, bumbling criminals, and Gumbo!! The second of the series, the story's characters are vibrant and well developed, all immersed in a well written plot. The recipes are a great bonus.. looking forward to the next installment.

This is one of the best written, fun mysteries, I have read in a long time. The characters are believable, you are drawn into their story immediately, and there are none of those boring sidebars. The only drawback is that I wish I had discovered this writer sooner!!
