Your words have such a ring of truth to them. Every book sale is a triumph. So busy writing, I have little time to read books, but steadfastly hope readers at large will be enticed to buy mine. I wish you much success whether by selling one book at a time or a slew to mirror the merit of publishing both Works.

I've been told that nonfiction books sell better than fiction books. I've also questioned, "Who do I have to kill, to get someone to buy my books?"
I believe the reason that nonfiction books sell better is because they are often promoted by academia (textbooks and references), the media (issues, like guns) and interest groups of all kinds. And, fame and notoriety always sells. That's why anyone who is famous for 15 minutes can sell a 400 page book about a 15 minute incident. Successful fiction writers seem to get that way with a combination of writing a lot of books, stories and other writing, experiencing a lot of failure (in most cases), and promoting, promoting, promoting.
I've had an equal number of men and women buy my books. But many of my stories are free to read on the net, so my story books have not sold. Young people have the time and discretionary money. Unfortunately, most young people are tied up with social networks and a dizzying array of distractions. Many people don't read at all and it looks like books on paper will be museum pieces very soon.
Sounds like you're on the right track by promoting your work. Your conceal carry book looks interesting. Come to think of it so does the other one about prisoners. I'm interested in both topics, but right now so busy spending time here each day and trying to write my latest novel that I have little time to read books.
