Nicely done Mark. Some very original work on the creatures. The mix of shadows and static made them hellish for sure. Enjoyed the read.

A very creative and dark tale. The color of the sky, though, doesn't really seem to make any difference unless there is more to the story than the dark creatures. And, there seemed to be a need for some editing. For example you write that Jim's daughter Daisy, is "next-door". This becomes a bit confusing until you realize that she is in the next room.
There seems to be more to this tale… Perhaps a novel?
