That was quite an hallucination… A dream? One thing is for certain. If the sea were to disappear into a small bottle, there would be a pile of plastic several miles high hiding the bottle with tea and it. Maybe you haven't drunk the sea at all. Maybe you are just drunk when you wrote this. ;-)

A poem with a very fine message. It seems I'm surrounded by people so tied to their past and anxious about the future that they can control anyway. BTW the people I'm referring to really have a good path ahead of them, they just keep looking at that odd possibility based on what happened to them in the distant past that they overcame so well.

While you may be writing about someone you know who plays with children in the street or you may be writing about yourself, it is interesting that some people, when they reach an older, wiser age, leave the rat race of life behind and enjoy simple things like they did in their childhood.

You have written a rather flattering picture of football, or soccer as those of us in the United States know it. Under the cover, there is a seething nationalism that prevails and sometimes erupts into great violence at games. Here in the United States, we have that too, with our football that involved different rules.
I view football as an extension of the Greek games, morphed into the Circus, garnered to appease the slave population of Rome, and a substitute for war if that is possible, with injury replacing death.

Josephine probably would not have been even a footnote in history had she not caught the eye of the Emperor Napoleon. Such is the power of beauty over reason. Her very notoriety made the story more appealing to those in observance. I don't think that love between an Emperor and a social climber is any more important than the love between two unknown villagers. The difference is whether it is lionized and reported on by the paparazzi of the day.

My partner accepted the Valentine's Day roses with a flourish and had them in a vase for everyone to view. But after a week or so they faded to a dark red uneven head of dead rose petals.
She saved them for a potpouri of fragrant rose petals--so invitingly sweet.

A formal English garden can be a wonderful treat. Especially if it has accommodation for the birds to take a bath. Your alliteration is obvious in this peaceful piece, walking with you through the garden. The only thing better would have been a beautiful maiden taking a bath in the pond because the river was so far away.

Yes, lizards, or geckos as we often call them are our friends with their ability to eat copious bugs from ants and flies to mosquitoes and hang around our windows providing us with all sorts of entertainment by their very nature and antics. Oh, that we could talk to them. What tales they could tell us of what goes on in our neighbors' houses at night.

Some of your descriptive words of your vantage point from the balcony over looking the bay are really quite marvelous. But in some cases, quite forced to rhyme and really don't work very well. And then, your whole poem changes in the last two stanzas from the description of the beautiful scenery to your yearning for a lost love that should be with you.

A rather accurate description of a teenage crush. Usually these kinds of obsession are very unhealthy, not really loving and not reciprocated by the target of all the gushing.

Oh yes, as inquisitive youth, we often charge into doing things that may or may not be appropriate. It is up to our parents to gently steer us in the right direction.
I recall a similar incident that happened to me involving smoking when I was seven. Upon being reprimanded and told how smoking was unhealthful and dangerous, I never smoked again… Or lied about it or other things.

You paint a very serene view of the landscape from a rocky vantage point. Reminded me of my short stay in Karachi with all of its exotic animals in the streets and crows and eagles filling the skies looking for carrion that seemed to be abundant from the aging and sick animals going to the sea to die.

Woods would teach more than from just seeing and hearing. Many concepts you can sense, feel, perceive and visualize inside. But the degree of such realization changes from person to person.

The tree expects wild creatures (including humans) to pick its flowers, drink its nectar, take its leaves and its wood in a form of pruning that is necessary for regrowth and bountiful fruit production year after year.
As far as bowing to a Master I would be a bit worried that we should not always follow and believe Masters if they try to lead us astray. Trees, and their humility, never will.

Hmmm... You will find more lessons in the woods than in books. Especially for those with eyes to see and ears to hear (physical AND spiritual). Trees and stones will teach you what you cannot learn from 'earthly' masters. So... what did the tree learn from the earth to be able to talk with the sky?
