Many more reasons to be thankful than I would think of, but that's why you wrote this article. ;-)
Writing has been my profession. But intended to be very structured and required by my employers over the years. Yet, I was still able to write letters and poetry during my limited spare time. I am thankful for that. So, as retirement neared and my urge to write fiction increased, I am so thankful that after giving up full-time employment, I have such a rich working life as a full-time author keeping me from being bored or spending my retirement in trivial pursuits. That is the greatest thing to be thankful for. The intellectual and engaging occupation that writing is for me.
