I don't think you'll ever find something called “God” in the Bible. What you will find are a lot of mythical stories, legends, that probably started before there was written language and passed down through memorization generation after generation. The men (women were never allowed to write or interpret verses of the Bible) who wrote the verses certainly had an objective in mind--primarily the moral and ethical control of their minions. In its many translations, translators refined the language to promote their objectives.
