Mr. Gite provides a stunning look at the inside of a Texas charter school in his novel "Sex, Lies and a Charter School." His main character, Jacoby White, takes a job teaching and is so excited but the prospect of nurturing and developing his students, but he is woefully unprepared for what he finds. The students are uninterested, disruptive, disrespectful, and those are the good ones!
Not only are the students a problem, but so are the administrators of the charter school. Their accounting and financial systems are a mess (most likely fraudulent) and although he is promoted to managing those same financials there is no way to authenticate many charges and deposits.
You'll be amazed by what is revealed in this book!
