How Mobile Technologies Are Changing Business Communication (Article) - 3/27/2016 6:46:57 AM
You have brought out many positive points regarding mobile devices and some the challenges they present. With paralyzed hands and fingers, I've never been able to push small buttons or use the fabulous touchscreens that are now available.
So, I elected many years ago not to spend the money on a cell phone and do all of my connectivity with two desktop computers. I have a fairly good memory and have no problems with navigation. When I get in trouble (which happens quite often when you are in an electric wheelchair and driving a highly modified van alone) anywhere these days, all I have to do is ask the nearest person and they always have a mobile device to call or search the Internet for me. One of the advantages for these devices to be so ubiquitous.
I am continually being informed by my Internet provider and other Internet providing firms that my website is not compatible with mobile devices. However, when I view my site on a mobile device the two simple columns on most of my pages are very easy to read and the links can be easily pressed by enlarging (a feature readily available on most touchscreen devices) the highlighted link. Most of my pages are quite short as well making them easy to scroll or page.

The Rapid Rise of Mobile Business Communication (Article) - 1/7/2016 11:06:26 AM
My hands are paralyzed so I never adapted mobile devices although I have purchased them for others and understand their appeal. Fortunately, I can accomplish most of the same functions on my desktops so I don't feel "left out" by not having a personal mobile device with me 24/7. In fact, I can turn off my computers for part of every day and find that I'm not missing anything important. My desk telephone still functions well for telephone calls and conversations.
Fortunately, I designed my website with simplicity in mind from the very beginning. Therefore, except for some links that may be a bit too close together for pudgy fingers to click on, I do not have to do any of the major overhauling that some businesses may require for my website.
Except on my desktops, I haven't downloaded an app yet. Hopefully, one won't be necessary in the future. I have downloaded computer programs that Apple had to call applications to avoid conflict with Microsoft. So I guess they are apps. ;-)
