The story-line of "Color Us Jesus" is an absolutely wonderful subject. The book has great characters, an excellent plot and encouraging material. Some of my very favorite sections of the book was when Rachel told Michael the story of her childhood while they were in the hospital or the letter Michael wrote to his mom. I also enjoyed the description of the wedding. Each of these sections were very well written and flowed nicely, conveying the authors' emotion and I enjoyed them.
I must say, however, the grammatical errors, misspelling of words consistently throughout the book (such as; signed and not 'sighed' or discussed and not 'disgusted') or poor pronunciation made the book hard to follow and read easy. I mention this only because it was severe, not just a couple typo's and disrupted the easy-flow of the book.
All in all, though I loved the story-line and enjoyed the topic.

The very beginning pages of this book are so intriguing that the story line pulls you in immediately. It becomes a love story between Alexander and Victoria Marzonie, but also reflects a play on the word father in the novel title. 'God the Father' reflects the title of Alexander as the father of the "mafia" family, but also relates to God, the Father, as in heavenly, while creating curiosity about the book and its eventual outcome. It is very captivating.
Alexander Marzonie was once a fun loving guy that becomes hard and callous after being strapped with the title, God the Father, as in, the godfather. He is in love with Victoria Moore, who has led a very sheltered life and knows very little about men, romance or love. Unfortunately, Alexander knows very little about showing his love and affection and what Victoria knows she has learned from old classic black & white movies. It sets the stage for a very interesting relationship between the two.
Throughout their romance and life within the "family" there is an underlying, but inspiring thread of religion that helps to shape the story line. When Victoria finds a room that was once a chapel that no-one else knows about, it becomes her shelter. Her favorite place to go to get away. The religious undertones in 'God the Father' are quite noticeable and I appreciate the implications throughout the story line. In the end, God takes on a stronger role in the book and it works for the story, adding the perfect element!
As we all know every book has a typo or two, it happens and I overlook that, however, I would be remiss if I did not comment on the extremely poor editorial job done on this book. Not only are there misspelled words, there are missing words, typo's and a ton of grammatical errors. I am usually lenient in this area but when it disrupts the natural flow of the reading of the story, I feel future readers deserve to know. It is a great story though...

I sense that you are a bit of a "helicopter" parent that doesn't give your children enough room to learn how to take responsibility for their own actions.
It is true that most teens do not have enough experience during their first two years of driving to make sound decisions in accident or other situations. A big mistake that parents make is investing in "good" neighborhoods or houses that are not near their work or schools, requiring driving or bussing their children to get them to school. So many parents are afraid of letting their children walk anymore when it is not as unsafe as the media would suggest.
With self driving cars and other vehicles coming soon, a lot of the bad driving and road rage issues will be resolved, along with overcrowding on the streets with single driver cars. The next 20 years will make a incredible change and traffic will move much better.
You didn't mention cell phones and social media. I have noticed that young people are constantly distracted by these devices… Even while walking. They have become a serious hazard for drivers.
