This article (book review about your book) by a former professor is rather sterling in the first paragraph and rather strange as he pours praise upon you in the second.
As a person who also never "sold out" to moneyed interests, I applaud you for writing about how some Nigerians refused to fall into the trap of letting money guide them over everything else.

Perhaps a good premise for a story, but I think it could've been written better. I would suggest that you have a good editor work with you to improve it or come back to the story after you have written other things and revise it.
I will not comment on the moral question except that, as a writer, you could have handled it with much more compassion.

A very good question. So many are hurt by love because they expect too much; an ideal that can never be reached. Kayode probably was very intelligent. Intelligent people seem to be the most prone toward insanity.
Your story is well-written but could stand a good editing for spelling and some word use, punctuation, etc.

Not a quotation, but certainly some wise words expressed. I had steak for the Fourth of July yesterday, so I guess I'm not ready go yet. Come to think of it, my father lost his teeth in his 20s, but thanks to dentistry and false teeth he enjoyed steak up until he died. And, I just went out this morning to enjoy the sun in my face and listen to and watch the birds come to our birdfeeder. My legacy is in my books, published and widely distributed. Including my autobiography that my ancestors can read about how quaint my life was.
You just reminded me of the time I visited my younger brother. We had pizza and all of my younger nieces and nephew gathered around and started asking all kinds of about my travels, etc. What a joy to share my adventures with younger generations.

The world is not fair. While the treasures of Egypt are being recovered and restored in spite of great turmoil in that part of the world, the many languages, cultures, and oral history of the rest of Africa are being lost in a misguided attempt to "modernize" all society after so much disruption and destruction in colonial rule followed by post-colonial abuse by tyrants and misguided political ideologies.
You are right in that education and the various African regions should try to preserve tribal cultures. Museums and studies in those particular fields, especially in universities, can help a great deal, but some, like every culture, will be lost to history. The Internet provides a way to rapidly save much, and Africans should take advantage of it while elders still remain remember the languages and the cultural stories.
