The Ties That Bind (Short Story) - 4/9/2016 10:52:21 AM
You certainly tied the generations together with this one.

so sad and yet so real, a fine story
The Ties That Bind (Short Story) - 4/8/2016 12:48:13 AM
A poignant read led by a most fitting title.
The Ties That Bind (Short Story) - 4/8/2016 12:30:46 AM
So very touching! Your imagery brings the reader "there".

Chicken Soup (Poetry) - 11/16/2016 6:39:22 AM

Cracklin' Day (Poetry) - 5/28/2016 9:08:21 AM
Autumn is my favorite season, your poem is a beautiful reflection of it, Mike.
Cracklin' Day (Poetry) - 5/25/2016 10:38:52 AM
I love the variety of opposites in this piece...
Evocative in every sense...

Cracklin' Day (Poetry) - 5/24/2016 2:30:57 AM
Ahhh . . . Love it when a "new chapter is begun."
Cracklin' Day (Poetry) - 5/23/2016 7:47:44 AM
Poetically wonderful in all of its autumnal glory.
Ron
Cracklin' Day (Poetry) - 5/23/2016 4:38:28 AM
Ah! You made me think of a new description of snow, "death blanket" or a shroud. I love poetry like this. It allows my imagination to jump right into what you write. Thank you for this opportunity!
Love ya!

A Richer Man (Poetry) - 3/31/2016 6:00:57 PM
Hmmm, sounds like something a proud dad would write as mom was probably up all night. Lol. Very adorable.
Persephone in the Garden (Poetry) - 3/30/2016 8:54:47 AM
Your story poem is very clear and describes both the beauty and the danger beautifully. I'm not sure what the myth is, but according to Jane, it's a common tail among even every day women and not just those of mythology.
Ron
Persephone in the Garden (Poetry) - 3/29/2016 7:33:49 PM
The imagery you created is mind blowing! I am able to empathize with the "lady".....I've been there. Beautifully penned!
Love ya!

Where Shadows Fall (Poetry) - 3/23/2016 5:51:03 PM
It is beautiful in its own right, but the sadness is overwhelming.
Where Shadows Fall (Poetry) - 3/22/2016 4:00:21 AM
Very beautiful!!!!!! ''with colores louder than life''---- I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva
Where Shadows Fall (Poetry) - 3/18/2016 6:44:17 AM
A great analogy for a dark mood. If one would take this literally, you might be a bat or a badger. Cool write with cool imagery.
Ron
Where Shadows Fall (Poetry) - 3/15/2016 7:17:55 PM
It sounds as if a fox in the woods is describing life. Enchanting!
Where Shadows Fall (Poetry) - 3/13/2016 4:30:59 AM
Mike,
A profound write, Mike. To live in darkness would be sad. The light brings out the best in us.
Love and blessings.

A Laundered Life (Poetry) - 3/12/2016 3:21:04 PM
I agree with Jerry, kick ass poetry
A Laundered Life (Poetry) - 3/12/2016 10:58:29 AM
In the 3rd stanza there is a transitional focus from I to you, leaving the impression that someone else is to blame for your life's struggles. Unless the "you" is really "us". Then it makes sense that we all lead a troubled life that the lifting fog will eventually lay bare. A Laundered Life would make a great title. Much well-crafted poetic mystery here.
A Laundered Life (Poetry) - 3/12/2016 7:51:29 AM
That last line kicked ass . . . Excellent poetry!
Small Things (Poetry) - 3/4/2016 5:53:25 PM
Beautiful .
Listen (Poetry) - 2/28/2016 6:02:41 AM
I like the relationship this poem brings out between the heavens above and the earth below, each nourishes the other in a never ending cycle and one could not exist without the other as we know it.
Good thoughts.
Okay, now I want to go back to having a garden....maybe!
Dan
Listen (Poetry) - 2/27/2016 12:14:09 PM
Beautifully written about what we take for granted and is really, the Garden of Eden, that is so wished for, but right there for us to enjoy and bask in. I like the way you mention both the wild version and the tame. Both of these are necessary--one for our sustenance and the other for our soul.
Ron
Listen (Poetry) - 2/27/2016 5:39:25 AM
Nature always seems to have something to say, yet her silence is perhaps her most powerful remark. You are on to something in this poem, from the title onward. As you said, all we need to do is listen, something that many people don't do these days. Nice work. John
Hercules Has Issues (Poetry) - 2/23/2016 9:44:35 AM
When I read that first line, I thought I was reading a surreal poem of some merit. And then as I read on, I found myself reading a poetic story of the dog and his man being assaulted by cross eyed chickens, "them," and "they."
Your poem is poignant in the end and well worth reading except for the rather sadistic idea of feeding the dog junk food that is too hot to eat.
Ron
Hercules Has Issues (Poetry) - 2/22/2016 7:52:44 PM
I can see the deeper issues behind the humor and it touched me. I too have always wondered who the all powerful "They" are! There have been times I wished someone would mercifully put me to sleep. Well penned, Mike.
Hercules Has Issues (Poetry) - 2/22/2016 4:45:37 PM
I love your sense of humor. Hope "everything" is actually okay.
Earthworms Disguised as Angels (Poetry) - 2/19/2016 6:08:13 AM
What can I say? Such beautiful words like, "On the silent waves of your gentle notion," make this poem very special and the subject, admiration of the power of the worm to catch fish, is both humorous and precious.
Ron
Crossroads (Poetry) - 2/18/2016 10:53:26 AM
A wonderful journey of thoughts about the crossroads of life that ends with "… time… leaves [ing] for the past." Brilliant!
Ron
Gardens of Grief (Poetry) - 2/17/2016 10:13:31 AM
Judge, Yes! But which man on earth is capable of judging rightly? I'll say NONE! And so, it's best not to judge!
Gardens of Grief (Poetry) - 2/17/2016 7:56:03 AM
Love salted tomatoes . . . You betcha.
Autumn Night (Poetry) - 2/17/2016 6:56:51 AM
You have given us deep remembrance of loss we had forgotten in the ripples of time. Penetrating and haunting.
Ron
Autumn Night (Poetry) - 2/16/2016 7:23:47 PM
Never to be lonely again. Beautiful sentiment of something new.
Autumn Night (Poetry) - 2/16/2016 6:48:27 PM
Ahhh . . . Taking the night, the tears and the distant stars, you have woven a classic poem of tragic proportions. Nice work.
Small Things (Poetry) - 2/16/2016 12:05:53 PM
When we downsize our expectations, little things become important and worthwhile. A wonderful lesson in these words.
Ron
Small Things (Poetry) - 2/15/2016 10:23:53 AM
I understand where you are coming from, Mike, and although grand places can be beautiful, they are never as beautiful as they can be until you can wander among the Small Things" and appreciate them as much as you would, say the Grand Tetons.
Dad's Toupee (Poetry) - 2/14/2016 10:51:06 AM
This poem of your father's death so eloquently written that I wish I could conjure up wording like that. Kudos on a masterpiece disguised as a ode to passing.
Ron
Dad's Toupee (Poetry) - 2/14/2016 5:31:38 AM
"Brilliant angels and their misty halos come too soon,
Surely they’ve come too soon."
These two lines tell the story of "Dad's Toupee."
Excellent poetry!
Loud (Poetry) - 2/13/2016 4:48:13 PM
"rhythms to savage the soothing breast"
Excellent word phrasing, Mike. I have lain on the beach during the night allowing the ocean to take me somewhere pleasant, not your crashing waves, but what works for you is what its all about.
Your Touch (Poetry) - 2/6/2016 3:43:12 PM
Wonderful write. I read this four times just to visualize your words.
Thanks,
Chris
Your Touch (Poetry) - 2/5/2016 10:56:35 AM
