Wow! You have, as if by experience, shown the path that some follow to try to get a new kind of high, only to find that they have accidentally received a real downer. Cool and cold stone realistic.
I really enjoy eating mushrooms bought in the store, not gathered. Like opium, I have never been intrigued by the magical mystery tours touted by mushrooms or any other psychedelic drug.

A FUNNY poetic jingle!
Reminds me of the 60's when they were trying to smoke everything from mushrooms to bananas.
They are probably just as magical as any other brew. Half the thrill is to not get caught by a cop or your mother. So this stuff was cheap and legal so it never became a hit! Makes one wonder....

Really something to inspire you to write more. Matilda is a real gem of a granddaughter at only 10.
I sent something to my grandniece, Amedee, to congratulate her for graduating high school and as a sendoff to college. I was surprised to receive a handwritten note from her last week. What was amazing was the lettering. Not written like a typical woman writes, but a highly stylized lettering akin to, but not exactly like, architectural lettering. I didn't think that young people these days learn much penmanship from what I've seen in their writing. Perhaps because her father is a landscape architect, why she has chosen to write so beautifully.

A delightful write Steve! I admire your relationship with the grand kids. We have a GREAT relationship with ours but it seems our time with them is reserved for holidays and birthdays. Well, at least we all get along nicely. BTW: I was stationed in England in the Air Force for 3 years at RAF Alconbury near Buckden/Huntington. It was a super time. Cheers, John Michael

My mentor and doctoral advisor told me that there was no such thing as "artificial" intelligence, so he suggested that I research "machine" intelligence… MI? Regardless of what we call it, it is coming and it is here. We have already lost our privacy and Alexa can't solve that problem for us. Or make a sandwich.
I can't use a cell phone or a touchscreen device. So for now, they aren't getting my fingerprints or my location by carrying the damn phone around, looking at it every two minutes. But I am speaking these words to a semi intelligent device that sometimes understands me but gave me earlier seven alternative phrases rather than, "Oh shit." Oh how I hate being censored by stupid software!

Cool write. Through my working years, I had bosses both good and bad, and I earned from both of them. Then when I decided to buy a fast food restaurant, I put into practice what I learned as to how and how not to be a boss, and as a result, I had some very good employees who stayed with me for quite awhile. The lesson, just treat people right, and value your workers.

What a delightful poem of revenge! So craftily written that it could be about any job anywhere where the employee has been maligned. Too often these days in this country, experienced employees that are aging are easily replaced by lower paid youngsters without a clue. It's also easy for businesses like this to quickly go under when the boss doesn't understand what it takes to treat the human element properly.

Here in the US these days, they don't know how to write a poem. They do know how to get an arsenal of guns, load up with ammunition and return to the shop for a good old-fashioned shootout like they see in the movies or their video games. I much prefer your method.
