Many years ago I had a frank talk with a dermatologist. While he gave me treatment that generally involves one antibiotic or another to reduce bacteria and often contains aloe vera to soothe the itching and soften the skin, there is no cure or long-term solution. He attributed the condition to stress. Spinal cord injury causes stress because some simple physical activity can be very difficult or impossible. He said, "I never saw anyone with spinal cord injury that didn't have seborrhea."
