Draconeum and the Orb of Light is an engaging fantasy fans of the genre will find entertaining. The heroine’s realization of who she is and what power she possesses is paced well. The descriptions of the world of Draconeum are colorful and spark one’s imagination. There are several obvious typos and misspellings, however, along with an overuse of adjectives and adverbs in some sections that bog down the overall reading experience. Overall, Draconeum and the Orb of Light is an entertaining fantasy novel with an engaging main character. I look forward to the next books in the series and seeing the heroine travel back and forth between our world and the wonderful world of Draconeum.

A very good article, especially for those in your position. It is one thing to have ideas, scenes and stories running through your head from your reading and your viewing, it's another thing to write them down in a readable way and then take the next step of getting those writings published. There are many writers just starting out that are faced with your concerns and those links will help them learn.
I haven't been faced with your concerns. I spent my entire life writing (mostly for my work--nonfiction) and often publishing in refereed journals. Came close to writing textbooks several times but never did. I didn't have time to write creatively until 19 years ago when I started writing weekly poems for my website. For example, during my doctoral studies in the early 1970s I learned that the great BF Skinner couldn't get his ideas on behaviorism published so he had to go to a vanity press to publish his first book. Many famous authors have written and published for 20 years before becoming "famous" and started earning any real money other than the junk writing jobs they took to put food on the table.
Writing should be fun. Some places like Amazon and Authorsden have made it possible to epublish at little or no cost. However, I wouldn't recommend flooding the literary world with junk writing. It does serious authors a disservice.
