Very engaging and whimsical write with a sad bit of irony for poor Zilly. Surely a case of backward evolution or devolution. Apparently, humans have arrived and Frankendroid is going to meet his real maker.
In a discussion on upcoming Mars difficulties with another scientist about storms, Neil Degrassi Tyson remarked recently that the Martian atmosphere is too light to carry sand even though the winds might reach 145 mph--only dust. So, your premise that all the junk rovers would be blown to one spot doesn't hold water (or light atmosphere). But the story is cool.
