I write short stories too. And I find them easier to read in my busy world where time flies and time to read novels and nonfiction doesn't exist. You can post some here to see what other authors think about them.
I see that your editing and writing for Steve Allen certainly makes you a seasoned writer. And from the two examples given above, you know how to create suspense right off the bat when it comes to short story writing or TV show scripting.
Like you, I waited until I retired from a long career writing for others to write for myself. I'm glad you are writing and publishing your heart's desire now. And thanks for posting some of your work here.

Nice analogy. From your well-written excerpt, I believe this book will be delightful to read. Unfortunately, I've too many books from authors on my desk that I haven't read yet.
