Hi, Ron. Thanks for your comments. The Carsons travel through time by passing through a translucent membrane near Sedona, Arizona, and other vortex locations. The membranes appear only during solstices and equinoxes. Much like the buzzing stones in Outlander, the device is rooted more in fantasy than science fiction. The particulars of time travel in the Carson Chronicles are explained more fully in the first two books than the last three. Hope this helps.

I have found time travel seems to be an often used (but considered impossible with current physics) convenient device by authors to write interesting historical novels. I really enjoyed watching the first seasons of Outlander, taking the viewer back to Scotland in the 1600s. In your description of Camp Lake, you give no inkling of how the "present day" Carson siblings managed to easily go back to 1983. I have to assume that the time travel literary device you use is explained in an earlier book in the series.
Just commenting. I will not be reading or reviewing this book because I'm too busy writing myself and trying to comment on all the postings here so that the authors get an opinion from another author for their hard work like yours.

Based on your reviews alone, I would say that readers like what you write. I love historical fiction, and apparently, you write with the use of the device of time travel. Since the original novel, The Time Machine, this genre has grown until it is a very popular theme these days. For example, 12 Monkeys, Timeless, and The Crossing, are currently, or recently, on TV.
However, as a realist science fiction writer, I find time travel a bit far-fetched, albeit an easy way to move into historical fiction while writing science fiction.
An excerpt of the writing would be nice for writer/readers here to get an idea of your writing style.
