I have had Indian friends and colleagues of Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Zoroastrian heritage for many years since the 1960s. But it was only yesterday, when I finally saw the movie, very appropriate for your story, Gandhi. It was amazing the tolerance and compassion of the people who followed Gandhi to a resolution of the problem of British rule.
From this incredible story I can see that that compassion continues to this day. Ahmad is truly a remarkable man full of courage and compassion for others. You are very fortunate to know him and to have him as a neighbor.
