I really enjoyed your detailed description of descending Choprock Canyon. I didn't realize that these canyons required repels, but now I see why. I also ran across many new words for geography, fauna and flora. Definitely canyon vocabulary. I also didn't realize that the water in these canyons was so murky, slimy and toxic.
Although I've always enjoyed hiking both on and off the trail, I've never done any real mountaineering or canyoneering because I always enjoyed major without having to have special gear to do it.
My younger brother has climbed most of the peaks in Arizona, and some of the canyons.
