Recent Reviews for Mario W Vitale

Dealing With Mental Illness (Article) - 7/28/2017 6:44:04 AM
While mental illness can lead to great art like van Gogh. It is much harder for mental illness to break through in the language of writing. Ron

Enchantress (Poetry) - 8/22/2017 10:59:26 AM
Unrequited love, a universal problem. At least we all have company. Well stated. Alan

Enchantress (Poetry) - 7/27/2017 8:52:10 AM
Love will never flare if the chemistry is not there. And if anybody knew what attracts lovers to each other and they could put it in bottles and sell it on ebay, they be richer than Bill Gates. Good poem, very enjoyable read.

Enchantress (Poetry) - 7/26/2017 2:07:02 AM
your lines here are exquisitely paired with rhyme and content, how sad when love is not reciprocated and the heart is made to wait... well done dear Mario. Thank you for sharing, and have a great day xo

Enchantress (Poetry) - 7/26/2017 1:09:52 AM
You've beautifully expressed the sentiment of unrequited love.

Tranquility (Poetry) - 7/19/2017 11:16:46 AM
This is quite a poem of unusual relationships. It might be dubbed "special relationships of spatial relationships." You offer many ways to think about tranquility. I like it because it drives me deeper into the wordsmithing pool of originality.

What if Transparency ? (Poetry) - 7/19/2017 6:00:05 AM
Your poem is not transparent, for it is difficult to obtain any meaning. And, little problems creep in like I think the fourth line of the first stanza probably should read: "A fear of a sudden massive explosion." Ron

Heaven & Hell (Poetry) - 7/18/2017 8:42:43 AM
I sure hope she doesn't exist in reality, because if she does, she treated you very badly. On the other hand, if she's just imagination, that I'm sure the crowd that is thirsty for the next bloodthirsty story will goblet up like their morning breakfast. Like Ed, any woman with blood dripping from her fangs is not even worthy of my acquaintance. Let her go bite someone else. I'm looking for soft kisses. Ron

Heaven & Hell (Poetry) - 7/17/2017 7:56:38 AM
I prefer when she walks in beauty like the night, but there are other stories to tell. Fangs dripping blood can put a chill on my passions. She vants my blood... A dreary tale, told well.

If A Raindrop (Poetry) - 7/5/2017 9:14:30 AM
Made me think about the movie I saw, French, I think, of a young couple on their honeymoon in the south of France where she pricked her finger on a rose and started bleeding. Having the disease where one bleeds and the blood is not clot (hemophilia?) They returned to Paris, I remember, where she died. Very sad, like your poem. Ron

If A Raindrop (Poetry) - 7/5/2017 6:55:49 AM
What a contrast! Raindrops and teardrops do indeed suggest purity and toxicity, Your poem teaches with simplicity and elegance, and those two qualities equal beauty. This is one of the best renderings I have read in quite a while. Bravo!

Backyard Fences (Poetry) - 7/4/2017 6:16:15 AM
I found it incoherent, but the images created were quite vivid as I read. Ron

The Sphere (Poetry) - 7/2/2017 6:32:22 AM
Crazy assumptions leading to a strange fantasy about some "magical" sphere saving a woman and with it, "the vast domain?" Ron

Reflection (Poetry) - 6/30/2017 6:41:02 AM
As poets, we all have times of reflection like this. You certainly are in tune with June. Ron

Midnight Encounter (Poetry) - 6/28/2017 6:18:36 AM
Doesn't look like a vampire in the picture. But I understand that the dream seem to be quite real to the young person having it. Ron

Inner Feelings (Poetry) - 6/27/2017 7:51:15 AM
I would think we might have to displace inner feelings when we are annoyed by the loss of a lover. Ron

Inner Feelings (Poetry) - 6/26/2017 9:12:19 PM
When feelings of love arrive, we feel happy, but when the depart, it is, as you say a "hurt that never ceases." Welcome to the human condition. Nicely done. John

Peace From Within (Poetry) - 6/24/2017 5:19:26 PM
Many profound thoughts here that never quite melded into a coherent whole for me, Maybe it wasn't meant to. Peace does come from within. A very interesting write nonetheless.

Ride Like The Wind (Poetry) - 6/23/2017 6:23:47 AM
This poem is all over the place, but seems to come down to taking a wild motorcycle ride in the wind. Careful not to get too many bugs on your teeth. Ron

Fall (Poetry) - 6/22/2017 7:58:43 AM
You must be in the southern hemisphere. Here in the northern, we have embarked upon hurricane season after the summer solstice. But there is no date on your poem and I don't believe any chestnuts south of the border. ;-) Ron

Who The Hell Cares ? (Poetry) - 6/21/2017 6:25:16 AM
A real indictment of purpose that so many seem to think they have as a plunge in the life without a life jacket. Ron

Solitude (Poetry) - 6/20/2017 6:27:01 AM
Interesting, following Odin's poem. Not only the value of being alone and taking in things quietly, the value of waiting to understand before jumping to conclusions. Ron

Solitude (Poetry) - 6/19/2017 9:10:51 PM
These words sing out as if the words came directly from heaven. Amen

Welcome To The Grand Illusion (Poetry) - 6/19/2017 6:59:10 AM
I agree with John. Many of these "shot from the hip" pronouncements may be cliché, but they ring very true in our world so rapidly changing. Ron

Welcome To The Grand Illusion (Poetry) - 6/18/2017 7:59:50 PM
Lots of stray thoughts here. Can't really put this puzzle together. That's one unusual poem that's very abstract. Some may like that...

Whispers (Poetry) - 6/18/2017 8:27:53 AM
I failed to see any logic to surprise me. But these whispers are some interesting lines that don't seem to be connected. Ron

Night People (Poetry) - 6/17/2017 8:25:38 AM
Serves you right, starring [sic] in a graveyard while drunk like a bunch of actors in a horrible movie. I think from what you wrote that you were "robbed blind?" by an old drunk there? Who asked for a drink? Ron

Divine Mortality (Poetry) - 6/14/2017 3:42:11 PM
It's the last great mystery, and we all get to find out.

Rage (Poetry) - 6/14/2017 5:22:39 AM
I certainly hope you don't turn into the Incredible Hulk. ;-) And I hope that this is just an exercise in dark poetry. If it is really from your heart, you still have a lot of issues to iron out that hopefully poetry will help you do. Ron

The Love That I Lost (Poetry) - 6/11/2017 6:00:22 AM
The hands of fate are not always kind. Sometimes, a loss like this is to our benefit. But it's hard to see that when it happens. Ron

Cynthia (Poetry) - 6/10/2017 8:23:57 AM
I never dream of those I love When I sleep I must do battle with all those who want to cut my throat. Wish I had your dreams. Your poem touches me at the core.

Cynthia (Poetry) - 6/8/2017 5:07:01 AM
I think all young men have a dream girl that got away. But that fades with time. In this case though, in the last stanza, Cynthia has made an impression that will last until death's door. Ron

Bits (Poetry) - 6/7/2017 5:21:42 AM
Beautiful but with a touch of sadness. In spite of not having the benefit of good dentistry, that guy looks happy. Ron

A Lonely Man's Life (Poetry) - 6/6/2017 12:57:02 PM
sometimes the whisper is best

Van Halen (Poetry) - 6/6/2017 8:56:32 AM
I never followed Van Halen. It appears that you know much about him and his music. I do know they had a couple of big hits. Otherwise, you help me come out of the dark of my knowledge of them. Ron

Van Halen (Poetry) - 6/6/2017 5:44:25 AM
I'm not a big fan of Van Halen. They have done some stuff that I like, but it always seems like he has to play every riff he knows.

Give Me Shelter From The Storm (Poetry) - 5/31/2017 10:16:26 PM
LIKE JOB, THROUGH IT ALL, WE HOLD FAST TO OUR FAITH AND 'KNOW' OUR REDEEMER LIVES AND ONE DAY SHALL SEE HIM FACE TO FACE...THIS...IS OUR 'SHELTER' FROM ALL STORMS! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Give Me Shelter From The Storm (Poetry) - 5/31/2017 6:04:36 AM
A lot of tormented soul-searching in this one. Ron

Our Time (Poetry) - 5/30/2017 6:58:29 AM
You're absolutely right. Our time is probably the best time we will ever have. I'm enjoying mine. Ron

The Shell (Poetry) - 5/28/2017 6:11:41 AM
The empty shelf is a great metaphor for the very personal way loss affects us. For the sound we hear in the shell is actually the magnified sound of our own blood pumping through our veins to supply our brain with the nourishment it needs to think the sad thoughts that we put in these poems. Ron

The Shell (Poetry) - 5/28/2017 5:59:49 AM
An enjoyable read.

The Shell (Poetry) - 5/27/2017 11:14:01 PM
This is a very well constructed poem, Mario, that anyone can relate to. It also tells us that almost any person, place. or thing can be converted into a poem in the hands of a thoughtful writer. Welcome to AuthorsDen! Looking forward to more of your words.
