I think we need to get away from traditions that are very costly and environmentally unsound. Your idea of "becoming a tree" is very sound in my mind. If each of us were passed on as designated as a tree, developers might thing twice about cutting us down in the name of "eminent domain" or "commercial progress."

This reminds me of an old song, "Would you like to swing on a star?" In the lyrics it ask "Would you rather be a ....fish, cat etc.?" It's fun to imagine but would we really? No, not really.... LOL
