The same title as the famous Ginsberg poem. And, I believe, a similar scenario to Interview with a Vampire, an entertaining movie I saw once and have an inkling to see again.
I don't have any belief in half/wolf, half/man creatures that are commonly portrayed as werewolves. Although people can have psychological disorders that drastically change their personalities into two or many like Jekyll and Hyde, it is virtually impossible, regardless of the so-called, "pain," shown in movies and believed by some, that any bodily transformation can take place.
I, however, do have a very close kinship with dogs, moonlit nights, and have been, perhaps deep in my brainstem an affinity for the distant howling of the pack. I have been out on a very dark nights with no moon and no flashlight and had strange dogs like huskies and malamutes (still very closely related to wolves) come up to me in the night and greet me like a friend.
Going back your story. It reminds me of coffee shops in and around college campuses where some young male students, sociopaths, would play games with gullible females by weaving stories like this, usually with the premise of getting them into bed. And not to sleep, but to have sex with a werewolf. ;-)

Thoroughly enjoyed! You did slip up there, using the term "werewolf" with him during your convo. You had the uncanny neck of getting into a shifter's psyche--crazy or not!
