I, too, love the "different currents on the same river" reference. That idea is so true. Each one of us has a different method of reaching the same end, with our Father in Heaven.

This has power like The Ring itself, Joseph!! It has that (very much pared-down and poetic!) Tolkien mysticism and yet earthy soulfulness to it somehow, too. Just love your discipline with the sparseness of this write, and yet you say so much and in so many different directions: the mark of good poetry! This seems a "viscious circle" indeed and I can really relate to the "back-turned"-thing... no worse feeling of being "shut out" than that! Can sense the agony and frustration here. Much applause! I can relate, thanks to an ex-wife sleeping in bed with blokes when I came home, I just walked out, lost the lot, homeless two years, at sametime first wife rings, refusing contact with son, but with determination back on feet, still fighting for son, thanks for the memory, it sure builds compassion and character..
