Reading the crumbled note, taken from the garbage, gave the spy all that he needed--that together with the obvious excitement that had been going on around him... He immediately reported...
Americans should know by now that the world has spies--everywhere. After all, we, too, have them... The only main difference I see is that America works to prevent harm insofar as possible. Other countries, those run by dictators, care about only one thing. Power and Winning. And, now, one of the world's foremost dictators had been keyed in on one of the most important military weapons that had ever been achieved! The dictator wanted it! And all the action is set in America...
It was 2010 when I first met Robert and read Bullets and Bandages. He was telling a story told to him by his brother... I don't think I will ever forget the fact that Robert was the one to write this first story, which set off a career in military fiction writing that continues, this time, with a fascinating thriller that I couldn't help but think, while reading, Oh, if it were only true... You see, two scientists have been working on a top-secret level under a military contract and have achieved a major breakthrough. Testing had begun, first on a dummy, then a small animal, and, finally, on a human. Each level of testing was reviewed at the highest level--the President of the United States and he was making the final decision, based upon viewing what happened at each level of testing.
When it reached the final level of testing, of course, it was important that those who would be actually using the MagNanoTron would be those who did the testing. Special Forces DeltaTeam was the obvious choice. Readers quickly enjoy meeting each member of the team, while participating in the camaraderie during who will be...first... At the same time, this reader took special note that during all that was happening, there was a lot of prayer happening by various characters... This was an important addition for me... It helps to personalize that these are real people participating in something that could be very dangerous, yet, willing to do so because of what the result could be... Our Nation's Freedom.
Of course it was the scenes between the spy team members and the special forces that turns the book into a thriller... Especially when one of the scientist is kidnapped! Everybody knows that this one individual could recreate the MagNanoTron for that dictator's country! That was to be prevented! At All Costs!
Because of the MagNanoTron and its potential use, I have not shared much about what is actually happening. You have to read it to believe it... And, again, I say, wouldn't it be wonderful if it was really possible?!
If you read military fiction, I'd call this a must-read. Thriller readers of all types will also be excited and, perhaps, exhilarated, as I was when the Special Forces Delta Team takes on the kidnappers! Do Check it Out!

What should should have been an ideal family vacation for the Larson family quickly turned into a family's nightmare. An abduction leads to a frantic search. Tex Larson knows the local police will do their best, but with his best friend Rob Marrino at his side he is confident they can find his daughter. What follows is a perilous search.
I found Butterfly Lake to be skillfully written. Tex and Rob share a strong bond. Their courage and loyalty is very evident. The large cast of secondary characters are well developed and realistic. The dialogue is clear and concise. The narrative is well plotted, packed with action and moves very quickly. This exciting book is well worth reading. Highly recommended.

Another wonderful story involving the life of Rob Marrino, a Vietnam Veteran that has now become a police officer. The story starts when at the end of a high speed chase the brother of a head member of a Columbian drug cartel is killed by Rob. The surviving brother threatens revenge and soon thereafter Rob's wife is kidnapped and taken to Columbia. With law enforcement, including the FBI, involved, Rob still takes matters into his own hands and with the help of his best friend, Tex, also a Vietnam Veteran, goes to Columbia to rescue his wife. This fast paced story line covers their rescue attempt going up against the drug cartel. "My Life For Her" is a well-written crime drama surrounded by love with glimpses of PTSD flashbacks suffered by Rob. This book is compelling and a real page-turner. I couldn't put it down, read it in one sitting. Robert Saniscalchi is one of my favorite authors, so I knew I was in for a treat and he didn't let me down. "My Life For Her" is a strong, satisfying novel that I really enjoyed. A definite 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this stirring and enjoyable book.

I knew I was in for a good story when I saw author Robert J. Saniscalchi had written another book. I always enjoy his work and was not disappointed with"Butterfly Lake," where old friends, Rob and Tex, find themselves in a frightening nightmare. Trailing through the serine mountains, tracking two possible criminals brings back visions and thoughts from their time in Vietnam. But, they are on a mission and nothing but success is good enough. "Butterfly Lake" is another suspense-filled drama that is a fast and easy-read. One of those "I couldn't put it down" books. I read it straight through. A big 10 outta 10! Check this one out, you wont be disappointed.

Wow! What an amazing story. Not my normal genre but it got my attention and I'm so glad it did. A wonderful novel that introduces us to a group of brothers that do an annual hunting trip. The fun banter back and forth was very entertaining. We learn of a very tight-knit family that loves and prays for each other. One brother, Rob, is military, Desert Storm veteran, that was currently serving on an elite force.
Rob and his girlfriend, Ashley, are together on 9/11 and Rob is immediately called back to the base. Ashley loves Rob and understands his devotion to his country. She is use to his extended absences and for the most part handles them easily, but this time is different. She is worried, concerned and unsettled.
Robert Saniscalchi takes us into the nasty world of war and the fight between good and evil. The novel 'Freedom's Light' is an action-packed book that takes us into Afghanistan and Iraq after the turmoil of 9/11. Robert, through personal relationships, provides us with an often unseen picture of how society must (and does) come together against the tragedy of terrorism.
I enjoyed the back and forth of different conversations between Rob and his family, Rob and Ashley, Rob and his team and the terrorists.
'Freedom's Light' is an action-packed thriller that is an absolute page-turner. I simply could not put it down. From page one I was hooked and found the novel outstanding. 'Freedom's Light' helps us, through the author, to view 9/11 in a different light that brought American's to accept, and even want, the drums of war.
Robert Saniscalchi did an awesome job giving us a wonderful novel that provided us an outlet to our own personal feelings about 9/11. I hated to see the book end and would love a sequel; hint, hint. His writing style makes for a very easy read and I can't wait to read further works by him.
I cannot recommend this book more highly. I give it a 10 out of 10. You must check this one out. A definite thumps-up!!!

A major drug bust throws him in the path of a dangerous Columbian drug cartel. Rob turns to his friend from his Vietnam days, Richard Larson aka Tex, a retired sergeant with the First Marines. Wary of bullets and violence, Rob knows the only way to take down the bad guys is to use their collective combat skills.
Rob is the main protagonist, but it’s Tex who steals the show. Saniscalchi expertly provides him a brusque, confident persona. Tex’s clever analytical mind under duress will delight readers. Saniscalchi neatly weaves a deceptively simple plot into a fast-paced action thriller and delivers a tense, satisfying finale. A delight to read! Goodreads review Kat May 2019

This is an amazing book it caught my attention from the very first page. Its about 9 11 and the terrorist that attacked the twin towers and the army that went to battle against them. While I was reading this book a song poped into my head and it is where were you when the world stoped turning by Allen Jackson. That song describes parts of this book. It is well written and I loved the main character. I never knew exactly what happens that day but mow I have more knowledge of what happened. I will recommend this book to my friends and family.

While certainly a military thriller, it is, perhaps, even more so, a family drama of those in the story who prayed, and were prayed for throughout the times of being "away and in action..."
For Rob, one of the main characters, this time, being away from Ashley, became an important component in his daily memories. More than ever, he wanted to be back home with her and his family.
September 11 had touched the lives of all Americans and many responded in one way or another...Rob saw a man standing next to an exit ramp holding a flag. "Rob felt the slow, encouraging beat of those drums as he drove on. He didn't realize it yet, but he was not alone, those same drums of war were slowly beginning to rise among the people...
Those who were gathered there were first shown a video of somewhere in the Middle East, terrorists celebrating, firing their weapons, for the American tragedy. The leaders were all of one accord, to send their Delta forces out...Light Force, codename for their most effective group was led by Lt. Rob Marrino.
There were six members of Light Force, with each having a specific set of skills, but who were also trained to fill in other positions, if needed. This is the story of their special mission where something had been spotted. Details of what was going on was needed... Intel was all that was needed... But the mission went well beyond that in the end...Was the Light Force prepared to deal with combat?!?
And stopping...the...next...attack...on America which was in the final stages?!?
The pace of Saniscalchi's "thrillers" are not like many... Instead, his books hone in on the values instilled in the soldiers, the values of a Christian nation, whose foundation when created at the very beginning, was on God's guidance and a desire to love good and fight against evil...Praying all the way through what they were called upon to handle...
Memorial day seemed a good time to share about this book, for surely Light Force's unit did not make it back whole and the bond of each of these brothers affected how they dealt with both the mission...and the losses that came with it... Freedom's Light is an American tale of praying heroes that depend upon God's help against evil. At this time in the world, I found it a welcome true-life story of our American soldiers and their families... I shared many Christmases like that often enhanced by dozens of cousins. We were lucky. So many didn't have a tree, good food or presents.
Probably the best story I ever read about Christmas was The Little Match Girl. That story reaches deep into the soul of what Christmas should be about.

Robert, what a wonderful memory... We're Jewish but always celebrated Christmas as a family day... No tree, of course but piles of presents. And in memory, both mom and dad were there.... Very nice story, thank you for sharing.... Mark

Short but sweet. In those days, lessons were meted out by neighbors without consulting parents, except to explain afterward. I'm surprised that you didn't suffer from it a second time with cherry-itis, a diarrhea like attack that usually accompanied eating too many cherries in one sitting, in this case, in a tree.

Some good advice. Glad that you are finally getting better recognition for your novel based on soldiers' experience in Vietnam. So relevant for today for young people to understand that joining the military may mean a whole lot more than a college education and training in a usable trade. The horror of war up close can change everything.
I have been writing all my life but learn something new every day and try to incorporate it into the next thing that I write. Fortunately, my first publisher who rejected me and my first novel when it stopped selling, taught me a lesson. My next publisher with a lot of cheap money and huge ambition, told me to join AD, so I did. I, too, had to republish second editions of my first two novels because promised editing was not done and I was naïve enough not to check.
Nothing like experience as a good teacher.

I agree. You covered all the bases. Exercise is a way to improve both your health and your well-being. And it can be done during times like this, regardless of social distancing.
My sister has recently taken up fasting one day and eating the next, normally. I understand that fasting more than 12 hours at any given time resets your metabolism. She lost 80 pounds and is now walking about 5 miles a day.
My partner is in excellent health and just told me this morning that she has been assisting me for 28 years. She was over 50 when she went online and taught herself how to swim. She misses going to the gym and swimming 10 laps every other day or so, because the gym has been closed. It just opened up. She is always on the go and has changed very little in her 95 pound 5 foot 3 frame over the years. Right now she is doing her morning stretching exercise, but she probably walks about 30 miles every day just in normal activity.
I have been paralyzed for 57 years. Before that, I participated in sports, loved to run and walked rather than rode vigorously wherever I went. Initially, after the surgical accident, I could walk and do exercises as well as swim, like a fish underwater and even dive off the springboard. But after 30 years, my doctor asked me, seeing me walk in the hall, "Do you get enough to eat?" He was looking at my skinny frame and my struggle walking. "You consume a great deal of energy just to walk."
But another doctor urged me to, "Get in a wheelchair for your own protection." Because I was falling so much and requiring stitches as well as hitting my head hard enough to get a concussion or two, unable to break my falls with my paralyzed arms. Exercise in a wheelchair is quite difficult, so I focused on my diet and bought a machine that bicycles my legs about 15 mph and my arms back and forth vigorously for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before I go to bed. It helps to keep down swelling and to reduce spasms. Spasms, particularly in my legs, have kept them in tone, but are particularly painful, sometimes to the point of a Charlie horse. And relaxing at the same time as they release stiffness.
For a quadriplegic, exercise is difficult. For now, I do what I can to "keep moving," with every muscle that still moves.
