This makes me think of giving birth--knowing there's something wrong--that you're dying, and then the baby cries, and all is forgotten in a bloom of new love.

I like it, Bug.
You do some intricate work with alliteration and rhyming here, and it's overall feel is rather sweet and reminiscent. The line "The story of the land" makes me think of the different layers in cliff walls, and so I then join you in looking at the falls and the colorful rain-bowing beadlets that make everything so green around the falls.

While a picture may take the place of a thousand words, your words in this poem draw pictures of another kind. Your poem is quite intimate and reflective, seemingly for just you and your lover. But it would be a waste for us not to be able to read your thoughts expressed.
