This book was fantastic! Elena Padin has such a way with words and pulling a story together, that after reading "August The 6th", I can honestly say that I am glad I purchased it! It is a keepsake I will cherish in the years to come.
I was so intrigued with this book, that I found myself reading it even when I least expected. In my car (yes, sometimes even at stoplights), doing housework, taking a break from doing yard work, in the bath-tub and the list goes on. No matter what I did, I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next and couldn't keep the book out of my hands!
Even as a young boy, I've always loved science fiction and dreamed of aliens and other worlds, not to mention all the other unknown wonders of the universe. This book was one that truly opened my mind to a whole new realm of wonder and I can't wait to read her next book! Thank you Elena Padin, for entertaining my hungry mind, that was in search of just what the doctor ordered ... not just any book, but a great book!

Elena, this is a real deep poem with some truly great imagery and so wonderfully done. You write with such powerful emotion, it's obvious that you put your heart and soul into your work. The words reached out to me and touched me in so many ways, bringing up emotions I have tried to overcome over the years with the loss of my mother. This poem is so very touching and meaningful, you took my breath away. Every so often, an author/poet comes along and inspires the world through their writing. You are one of them.
