. . . and a moment of awakening for the reader too. Everything written here with great precision and attention to detail, yet it all seems so understated and accessible to the reader. Simply lovely. I love the cadence and rhythm you have been able to establish in the sentence flow, lulling the reader into your finely-tuned world of wonder. Excellent writing, no doubt about it.

Your descriptions in this story are amazing, filled with adverbs, adjectives, similes and metaphors in ways that are enchanting in their own right. Perhaps, the best part of the story. As for the appearance of the Godlike man and the revelation at the end, I don't have a clue. The only thing I can think of is that Abhogi did not go to sleep under the banyan tree, but died and she didn't realize it until she arrived at the temple and awakened to her true situation.

I was truly shocked when I read the end of this, based on true events, story. I'm not sure if adoption requires that the child be raised in the religion of its birth parents, but otherwise the story is very realistic and probable.
Your descriptions are very vivid and help describe the ambientce of scenes very well. Except for the wake of other boats, rivers rarely have waves unless there is very strong wind and/or the river is very wide so that waves have room to form.

Your brilliantly written story shows how social media has brought the whole world closer together, even though using characters only from India. Reminded me of my tenant, describing her texting relationships with several men on a dating site. And your story touched on a number of similar topics shared with Indian friends over the years.
I am not fond of haiku, but I have not had any poetry courses where I might have learned more appreciation for the art created by the Japanese. I'm a slow learner…

A wonderful human interest story showing how we must grab onto life that is presented to us because we never know when our time is up.
I couldn't help thinking that this story was somewhat autobiographical. Having worked in higher education institutions for over 30 years, I could relate to the story and the connection between the two. The story is currently up-to-date with the way people meet people these days online.
I would suggest that you go back into the editor and increase the size of the text so that it is easier on the reader's eyes. Separating the paragraphs in some way also would help.

It is really unfortunate that such artistry is only displayed temporarily and then is lost except to the memories of the couple married. But I don't approve of tattoos as a way of making this artistry permanent.
The photo helps keep the memories alive and is a form of preservation of a fleeting image as well.

A beautiful and meaningful rendering of what the symbol of henna could mean. I am familiar with usages of henna as I have lived in the Middle East for many years, yet I have never thought of it in this striking manner. Lovely writing.
