There is much truth in your poem. We talk too much and do nothing. While words form great ideas, the birds continue to be missing from the landscape and we do not know where they have gone or whether they will be able to come back. We are only birdwatchers and not scientists who can solve the problems of the world but are often thwarted by backbiting talk of no account.
You really left me thinking…

I like the flow of thought until the last line that seems to form a kind of dissonance with the rest.

I like the quiet lyricism of these lines and particularly the image of "sobering dreams...cast among the stars..." Beautiful work.

A beautiful sentiment. But I find that the lines take me all over the place rather than focus on what you are trying to convey rather than these disconnected phrases of dreamy beauty.

Your poem lulls the reader into a dreamy, receptive mood for the substance of your poem. You have a way, a gift, of drawing upon some good imagery to make your point. A fine effort, keep such poems coming.
